I agree a complete collection is a sad thing. I am happy i have all the animated films on DVD but sad at the same time. I feel better when i realize i will pick up the better versions to come.
With the endless possibilities for the treasures i have those to look forward to as i have collected all of those to date.
As long as disney keeps bringing out more material i am there eager to collect it.
I am also in Florida just south of tampa and i have my collection all set to be put into my jeep wrangler if Hurricane Wilma comes our way and i have to head north. Its the first thing i packed just in case, then comes my computer and accessories etc.
Im not losing my DVD collection i have accumulated since 1999.
Chuck

I know, thanks a lot! One thing about these versions of "Cinderella" in past formats. The "Black Diamond (Classics)" version looks kinda horrible before the restoration in the 1988 VHS release, the "Masterpiece" version looks kinda good but the restoration was almost nearly completed in a 1995 VHS re-release and finally the latest DVD Platinum edition looks completely restored with Enhaned soundtrack and even better picture quality. As for the soundtrack for "Cinderella" in both formats, the original 1959 (or 1963) Disneyland version on vinyl contains 9 songs and the 1996 CD version has 11 songs with additional score by Oliver Wallace. As I said before, Randy Thornton and Ted Krysco did a terrific job restoring some of the original elements from the original Disneyland 1959 (or 1963) soundtrack version into one CD since the complete soundtrack edition was released back in 1996, that was exactly 9 years.Disney Duster wrote:Musicradio77, you have a lot of Disney movies! And Disney music. You have a treasure trove of Disney in past formats, that in the future might be some historical fascination. Can you imagine some old historian finding your VHS collection and saying, "Look at the primitive way they watched moving pictures!" But I've always thought the original Classics Collection had something special about them. Even when Cinderella was rereleased in the Masterpiece Collection, restored, I wanted to watch my older "Black Diamond" version. And of course, I like the art on its cover better than the art of the later covers. It's cool how you're not going to sell any of your collection. It may be worth a lot of money in the future, but a physical memory of Disney's past is worth more to you than money.
I have Cinderella, but as for it completing my Disney movie collection, I only really collect the movies I like, or I respect(for instance, I have Bambi not because I like the rather depressing film, but because I respect it). Sometimes it's also a nostalgic thing, like when I bought Aladdin because of my memories of seeing it in theaters at a young, happy time.

Well, I have all the Animated Classics now. I also own all the DTV and sequels, Special Eds and re-issues. I only need Tarzan Collector Ed, Fantasia Anthology and the Ultimate Toy Box to own them all. Before this year ends I'll get them !!!
