The party? MMC?

Post by streetsofgold »

Anyone remember these 2 disney recording groups? The Party were actually moderately big and were in teen mags back in 1990 along with PC Quest et all (ha, pc quest, they had some sweet songs too)

MMC had a young jc chavez and was released in 1992. With some pop hiphouse and some really top notch ballads. The production musta cost alot. Its slick stuff. The ballads are actually quite soulful. And the midtempo dance tunes are good fun. The party on the whole were better (they had 4 albums I think?)

The Party had a coupe of albums. "Im my dreams" being there biggest hit and my personal favs being "free" "suger is sweet (remix)" and "shoulda woulda coulda". I dug up all these sorta acts and forgot disney had MMC and the party.

Well, the MMC was just kind of a spin-off from the TV series, with the recording artist being promotion for the TV series and then musical acts on the TV series being a promotion for it. I remember their 'hit' single "Real Talk", but not much else, though I guess they have a concert that's excerpted repeatedly on the DVD.

I like "real talk". Its funky in that joey lawrence "nothing my love cant fix" sorta way :) (no way near as good though) I ain't conservative, but that song has a sweet meggage to kids. So u can get a concert featuring tracks off that album on DVD?

On a soul tip "goodbye doesn't mean i'm gone" is an anita baker ballad ripoff, but its an awesome lil' gem though. Really strong vocals too (no credit who though?).

I got the party video somewhere. "thats why" was had a nice summery beach video that of course, loks so daed now. Love it though. I hope a few of the people on here will give them a go.

I have "MMC" on CD. I bought it at a closeout store at one time where they were selling OOP tapes and CD's. In addition to that, I don't have the Party on CD.
