2099net wrote:(1) When the Beast is attacked by the wolves and collapses into the snow, there is blood on his forearm (this is not in the original version)
Actually, the blood is in the original version, but it isn't as noticeable as it is in the special edition. Probably it is because of the color "correction".
2099net wrote:(2) The chair disappears in the Gaston sequence (which I have been told does not in the original - but this could have been on the original film but fixed for the subsequent VHS and LD releases)
I just checked out my VHS copy today and the chair is there indeed. The weird thing is that the producers even mention in the audio commentaries that the chair desapears.
2099net wrote:(3) The opening credits omit the Silver Screen Partners credit (not on the PAL discs!)
Does the R2 DVD also omit the "Special Edition" opening credits? It was in the theater version, replacing the "Silver Screen Partners" card, but it isn't on the DVD (at least not on the R1 nor the R4).

There are other differences, like the enhanced special effects - for example, in the prologue, when the rose "shines", it does differently than it did in 1991. The opening title card is also bigger than in the original version.

Disney is messing up our favorite films... why don't just let them alone and "only" restore them? They did it to "Snow White", "Fantasia" and "Sleeping Beauty" and they still sold like water... no needs for "all new musical sequence".

Well, I think now we can hope for an "all-new song featuring Scuttle" on the "Little Mermaid" DVD. Oh, we may have a cameo of Aladdin's mother in "Aladdin" as well...

Lizard King - the Beauty and the Beasr Soundtrack - there has been general remixing, which you may or may not see as being a big issue, but in addition

(1) The Beast's stammer is missing. Some report this as an error on the original, but I sort of liked it "You wanna-wanna stay in the tower"

(2) When the Beast lets Belle go, he can be heard smashing up his tower (the smashing and breaking sounds are not on the original). This was added to explain why the all new 'Human Again' cleaned castle went back to being dirty and destroyed in subsequent scenes. It was not needed on the original cut.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I knew about that one. I always suspected that the stutter was a mastering error on the VHS tape and LD, and I didn't mind seeing it "corrected" for the Platinum DVD.

I knew about this, too. Again, I don't find this a HUGE BIG deal.

However, the COMPLETE redrawing of those crocodile cels have me fuming mad about this The Lion King Platinum DVD.

It doesn't alter the fact that, despite their advertising, the Original Cut of the films are unavailable on both Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King.

Now I´m MAAAAAAAD :x :x :x
How incredible stupied to advertize this LK as first time on DVD - of course it is that, when they have redrawn so much in it!
They should add to their adverticement: Also for the first time on video!

I will absolutely not buy this silly DVD - I stick with my old video copy WHICH is original at least!!!

This is in the Original, I've already checked it out. You can't tell since the transfer is some what dark! but it's there!
2099net wrote:(2) The chair disappears in the Gaston sequence (which I have been told does not in the original - but this could have been on the original film but fixed for the subsequent VHS and LD releases)
That I think it's still in the original, I might have to check that one

and they also added 2-3 minutes in the beginning woods to the stained window that never made its way on the DVD

It was presented in the IMAX theater where instead of cutting the scene to go to the two towers cut again stain window. The camera would just keep going and you could see the bridge, newly added rainbow colored flags all over (?) and then courtyard and then the 2 towers, cut , stained window.

:) Never made it to the DVD and few people remember it, if you put the work in progress on the dvd it has the clean up animation of some of what was shown in the IMAX as part of the extended opening! Enjoy! :D

Here's how you tell Chernabog and Chernobog apart...

Chernabog likes to use these smilies...  and is from Sweden.

Chernobog makes his own cover art and is from Spain.

Both are awesome posters, though...and I can see how it's easy to be confused. :D

:) cool Chernobog, Enjoy! It's sad that those extra minutes of the Special Edition did not make their way onto the DVD.

Er, MMBoy, I've just checked both versions of the movie and I haven't noticed anything. Maybe I didn't understand you. The prologue in the work in progress version has more minutes? :?

He told me that the extra footage he is referring to was in the IMAX theaters, its not on the home video. I saw it in the theater and don't remember any extra footage. He should contact Disney and ask them about it, maybe he could email the Disney archivist, Dave Smith.

And now, the question on everybody's mind is finally going to be answered:

IS THERE ANY SEX IN THE REVISED VERSION OF THE LION KING???

Take a look at this post:

http://www.dvdforum.nu/forum/index.asp? ... 80&forum=3

- The top picture is from the original version (from the laserdisc).
- The middle picture is the same, but with the naughty word highlighted for those who had trouble spotting it in the first picture.
- The bottom picture is from the DVD. No sex please, we're British!

I'm not sure, but I think it was edited because it does not seem the same anymore...

They didn't recalled the movie but, it seems they decided to edit it...

OMG!!!!! :o :o :o
No offense but those new crocadiles are hideous. I believe that Disney did not do the animation for those new crocs cause if they did (Remus is now shaking his fist at the picture of the ugly crocs.)

Also if anyone notice in Finding Nemo there is a poster with a picture with the crocodile from Peter Pan on it.
