Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween - background music?
We had a great time Wed. night, even with the rain. I'm trying to make out some of the songs that were played throughout the park. I could make out the theme song to the haunted mansion, This is Halloween, Oogie Boogie's Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas, the Heffalump song, Who's afraid of the big bad wolf.
Does anyone have a playlist or know of any other songs I didn't list? I know there were many more. Not sure if they were originals or from movies.
By the way the parade shovel team was cool for those who go.
THANKS!

Aww, I wish I extended my program so I could be there to see it all! Did they redo Haunted Mansion to make it Nightmare before Christmas? Or do they only do it in DLR?

Haunted Mansion Holiday (the Nightmare Before Christmas version of the ride) only exists at Disneyland and...I believe Tokyo, but don't quote me on that. It is not at Walt Disney World.
I'm hoping to go to Not So Scary towards the end of the month.
Escapay, what was your role during your program? Were you spring program?

Yours truly was on the Spring Advantage program, January 24 to August 19. My role was OutDoor Foods (ODF) at the Magic Kingdom, which was a lot of fun. Because we were global, we weren't assigned to just one area of the park (like people assigned to certain attractions or merchandise shops). IIRC, here were all our stands:Disney Princess Ariellen wrote:Escapay, what was your role during your program? Were you spring program?
Main Street:
Popcorn 1 - City Hall Popcorn (in front of City Hall)
Ice Cream 1 - Expo Ice Cream (in front of Exposition Hall, but Exposition Ice Cream is too long to say over the radio)
CappCart - They removed it shortly before I joined the program, but it was like MSB, except underneath the train station
MSW - Main Street Water (seasonal, by the Ice Cream Shoppe)
The Castle Hub:
MSB - Main Street Beverage (coffee, cappucino, espresso, and fountain drinks, to your left exiting Main Street)
Popcorn 2 - Castle Popcorn (To your right exiting main street
Ice Cream 2 - Castle Ice Cream (seasonal, right by the castle)
Ice Cream 4 - Rose Garden Ice Cream (seasonal, next to Popcorn 2)
Castle Beverage - same name (seasonal, right by the castle)
Adventureland:
Popcorn 3 - Jungle Popcorn (by Jungle Cruise entrance)
Adventure Nut - Adventureland Nut Wagon (ahh, my second home at Magic Kingdom, by Pirates and Enchanted Tiki Room. I have the entire pre-show for ETR memorized.)
*Because Stands West has several stands here (including the Eggroll stand), we only have the need for two
Frontierland:
Popcorn 4 - Frontier Popcorn (by Pecos)
Popcorn 9 - Mountain Popcorn (in front of Big Thunder Mountain)
Ice Cream 6 - Fry Ice Cream (near the McDonald's Fry Cart)
Ice Cream 7 - Splash Ice Cream (near...Big Thunder Mountain)
Ice Cream 8 - Thunder Ice Cream (near...Splash Mountain)
Ice Cream 9 - Bear Ice Cream (in front of Country Bears)
FLEM - Frontier Lemonade (In front of Big Thunder Mountain)
Splash Beverage - same name (seasonal, in queue line of Splash Mountain)
Liberty Square:
Popcorn 5 - Liberty Popcorn (in front of Liberty Bell)
Ice Cream 10 - Diamond Ice Cream (in front of Diamond Horseshoe)
Ice Cream 11 - Mansion Ice Cream A (in front of Mansion queue)
*Ice Cream 12 - Mansion Ice Cream B was removed long before I was there because 3 ice cream stands was enough for Liberty Square
Fantasyland:
Popcorn 6 - Pooh Popcorn (seasonal, and the worst stand of all. Formally "Honey Popcorn", because it was the only stand that made popcorn with sugar instead of salt, but the wagon itself is cursed and no one likes working it so we never assign anyone there and only open it if we really really need to)
Ice Cream 13 - Peter Pan Ice Cream (Used to be by the Small World Exit/Stroller Parking, but we moved it down lower towards the restrooms so it's less crowded)
Ice Cream 14 - Dumbo Ice Cream (in front of the Village Haus)
Fan Nut - Fantasyland Nut Wagon (I loved opening this wagon because it was so easy to do in the morning)
Ice Cream 15 - Toontown Ice Cream (when Fan Nut was in rehab, we changed the area to Ice Cream 15, which used to be in Toontown, thus the Toontown name in Fantasyland)
Toontown:
Popcorn 7 - Toontown Popcorn (right outside the entrance)
Ice Cream 16 - Don't know the name (removed long ago, stroller parking by the train station now occupies its space)
Tomorrowland:
Popcorn 8 - Tomorrowland Popcorn (worst place to be in the rain, it's by Astro and Space Dogs)
Ice Cream 17 - Speedway Ice Cream (right outside Indy Speedway)
Ice Cream 18 - Space Ice Cream (right in front of Space Mountain)
Ice Cream 19 - Buzz Ice Cream (seasonal, by the Buzz exit)
Tomorrowland Beverage - same name (seasonal, by Carousel of Progress)
P-Vending:
P-Vending Lemonade Carts
P-Vending Ice Cream Carts
*These carts we never used when I was there except during the really busy times, but back in the day, they'd have Parade Vendors go out with the Glow Vendors and sell Frozen Lemonade or Ice Cream to guests waiting for the parade.
The strangest thing is I never found out what Ice Cream 3 or 5 ever were, though I found out what 12 and 16 were.
Whew, that was a lot to type. I mostly worked at the Nut Wagons, because they train a select few (aka the people who don't quit), and basically I was the nut bitch half the time. But I've worked nearly every wagon in the park at least once, either as opener/mid/closer or during a relief shift (the best shift, I'm given a list of breaks, and I go to each wagon and give them a 20, 30, or 40 minute break).
A lot of people confuse ODF with Stands (East and West). Stands is the stuff where they're inside but the guests are outside (like Sunshine Tree Terrace or Aloha Isle or Mrs. Potts Cupboard or Lunching Pad), and the specialty wagons for hot dogs, turkey legs, churros (only one, and it's in Frontierland), and pretzels. ODF deals with popcorn, wrapped ice cream, and nuts.
ODF, imo, is one of the best departments to be given a role in, because you not only have to learn every inch of the park, but you definitely get a variety in costume! Though I always HATED HATED HATED working on Main Street because their costumes were godawful fugly things. Also, ODF is outdoors all the time, which is both good and bad, but it's frequent guest contact which is really good when a manager is auditing you and asks a guest what they thought of your service.
What I loved most about ODF at MK though was how TOUGH it was. Epcot, MGM, and DAK's ODF is such a breeze compared to MK, so we kind of feel...superior to them during busy times (during which many of them like to pick up extra hours with us expecting something easy, then they get a hard place like FLEM or IC7)
Main Street and Frontierland were among the worst places to work, because Frontierland has the bottleneck and Main Street is always crowded.

Halloween, Xmas, & winter are the times I miss it most when SHane & I were CMs there.
U should go visit for the Happiest Celebration on Earth too Escapy.

They have tons of theme-park music on their live radio.
They have a good forum site too to talk about disney music & theme parks.

OK first of all, THANK YOU for the list of how your ODF is organised!!! My best friend down here is in ODF at MGM, loves it, and when we were buying ice cream at Fantasyland one day, she was then really wondering "I wonder HOW they organize their ODF!" So, this shall be a very valuable resource for her.Escapay wrote: Yours truly was on the Spring Advantage program, January 24 to August 19. FYI, I'm Fall Advantage...arrived on May 23 and here until January 5. Moving into a new apartment this week... And yeah, I'm merchandise in Towers/Glow at Epcot and LOVE it.
My Halloween Playlist
These aren't all disney songs, but they are on a CD that I put together for my daughters to enjoy for Halloween:
Dead Man's Party -- Oingo Boingo
Bad Moon Rising -- Creedence Clearwater Revival
Beetlejuice: Main Titles -- Danny Elfman
Double Trouble (the choir song from Harry Potter 3) -- John Williams
Great Pumpkin Waltz -- Vince Guaraldi Trio
Hell -- Squirrel Nut Zippers
I put a Spell on You -- Bette Midler (from Hocus Pocus)
Monster Mash -- Bobby "Boris" Pickette
People are Strange -- Echo and the Bunnymen
The Purple People Eater -- Sheb Wooley
This is Halloween -- Danny Elfman (from nightmare before Christmas)
Thriller -- Michael Jackson (I relented, normally I wouldn't want his music.)
Weird Science -- Oingo Boingo
Wolly Bully -- Sam the Sham...
Most of these I bought off of iTunes, but I had many of them too.

No problem on the list. It was a lot of fun reminiscing (especially since it's been a month and a half and I'm still in withdrawal!) I vaguely knew a couple ODF CP's at MGM, they left around the same time I did. I always liked going to the other parks and comparing their roasted nut recipes to ours, just to see which was better.Disney Princess Ariellen wrote: OK first of all, THANK YOU for the list of how your ODF is organised!!! Yeah, ODF is really "hard" for some people who can't stand the heat. I think out of all the MK ODF'ers from Spring Advantage, about 1/4 of us actually completed the program. We started out with about 20 Spring and about 20 Spring Advantage, roughly, along with 7 Hong Kong, but by the time the HK and Spring people left, we were down to 10, and by the end of the program, down to 7 from the original January group, and only one of us extended to next January. A lot of people hated ODF because of MK's ODF, which is not fun unless it's offseason (which we loved in Jan/Feb).Disney Princess Ariellen wrote:And that's awesome; I'm really glad you liked your program...you're the...2nd ODF person I've met who's liked it. I've always wanted to work at Epcot because not only is it my favorite park pre-CP (MK has since become my favorite since I know it like the back of my hand), but it's the least crowded. I've heard so many stories of how easy Epcot CP's have it, and I think they have the least amount of dropouts.Disney Princess Ariellen wrote:FYI, I'm Fall Advantage...arrived on May 23 and here until January 5. Ahh, I'd love to go to California and see their celebration. Especially the 17-minute long fireworks! And the new Aladdin and Snow White shows!Fidget1234 wrote:U should go visit for the Happiest Celebration on Earth too Escapy.
