Well, this came today for the Xbox, and I've had a quick play on it (literally a quick play: I only have had time for 45 mins or so).
Well, first the ultra bad news: Jack is revoiced and doesn't sound anything like Jack in the movie.
Now the bad news: I can't really get the hang of the combat. It seems to be based on Devil May Cry (or being as I've never played that... Van Helsing, which I have played) but it seems a little slower and as a result, it seems hard for me to string the moves together. Of course, I haven't read the manual so that may help in the long run, but it just doesn't seem "fluid".
Now the Good-but-slightly-disappointing news: There probably isn't any "all-new" songs in it as such. The brief play I've had has had "This is Halloween" playing for the main battles in the Town Square, and a re-worded "Oogie Boogie Song" which references events in the game while battling a really cool Oogie Boogie shadow. So the promised "all-new" songs in some of the previews probably just refer to new lyrics over existing tunes.
Now the fantastic news: The visuals in this game are the results of everybody involved working on a labour of love. They really are spectacular and stunningly close to the original movie (considering the different media etc). Everything screams detail and respect for the original. You can fall in love just with the screens.
