I haven't heard of a sequal comming
Doesn't Hollywood have any creativity anymore? I only saw a little bit of the first one, so I can't really judge it but come on. I guess anyone is willing to do anything to make a buck these days
What's the plot to the movie anyway?

I don't know much about the movie itself, but I did just recently get the chance to interview one of the actors who will be in it:

Did you know this movie was a remake, There is another movie just like this coming out soon called Yours, Mine, and Ours which is also a remake of a Lucy Ball movie.Timon/Pumba fan wrote:I liked the original. Was it the greatest movie ever made? No. But it was enjoyable and fun for what it was. However I really didn't think it needed a sequel. So I won't see it since Hollywood hasn't been giving us alot of good and original movies recently.

Yes I knew that. Not too sure what that has to do with this though. I'm 100% sure though that this movie definatly added some "modern" style to the movie so it was kinda original. But still a sequel is unneeded IMO.memnv wrote:Did you know this movie was a remake, There is another movie just like this coming out soon called Yours, Mine, and Ours which is also a remake of a Lucy Ball movie.Timon/Pumba fan wrote:I liked the original. The original "Cheaper By The Dozen" with Clifton Webb was such a far superior movie to the rip-off remake with Steve Martin.........and the sequel was not called "Cheaper By the Dozen 2" it was called "Belles on Their Toes". It was also a very good movie.
If you haven't seen these two films, then you should rent them, and I am sure that you will add them to your collection. Forget these lame remakes, and "Cheaper By The Dozen" was a pretty lame remake. Partly because of Miss Duff, and mostly because of Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt, and Piper Perabo.
And with more non-originality, Hollywood has a remake of a Lucille Ball-Henry Fonda classic "Your, Mine and Ours" that is due out soon. Before watching this one, rent the original and see what a real family comedy is about.

I haven't seen the one with Bonnie Hunt and Steve Martin (IMO, the true original is the one with Clifton Webb and Myrna Loy), but after hearing that the plot was drastically "modernized", I haven't been too thrilled about it. I am even less thrilled with the idea of "Cheaper By the Dozen 2." I would, however, like to see "Bells on their Toes."
I'm very tired of seeing classic films with large families being "modernized." Yours, Mine and Ours is a classic and I know if I see the remake, I will probably think it's rubbish compared to Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda's film. That is, if I see it at all.
My mom recently bought the book of another big family movie that was just released: The Prize Winner from Defiance, Ohio or something like that. At least that's not taking a classic Hollywood film and completely destroying it.

I haven't seen the first movie yet, it's one of those movie I've been meaning to hire. The first one looked funny, just from watching it in Whitcoulls (NZ Bookshop), with no sound.

ChayChay102, you need to get your castings right. The original Cheaper By The Dozen (1950) starred Clifton Webb (not William Powell) and Myrna Loy, along with a great supporting cast lead by Jeanne Crain and Edgar Buchanan.
The sequel Belles On Their Toes (1952) featured Myrna Loy, Jeanne Crain, Debra Paget, Jeffrey Hunter and Hoagy Carmichael.
Both comedies were from 20th Century Fox, and are available on DVD. Watch them, and I am sure that you will buy them.
