Do you know where you are staying yet? How many days are you going to be at WDW? The suggestions may vary depending on how much time you actually have there.

Well, I am going in December and this will be my second trip. If I learned one thing on my first trip it is this-take extra pair of shoes! My Nike walking shoes gave out on me after the first day! You will walk MANY miles and get MANY blisters! Prepare yourself.

Be sure to get a Birnbaum's Walt Disney World like MMBoy said. The 2004 edition just came out a few weeks ago. It has day planners inside to help you plan your trip by how many days you are staying, etc. I feel that you cannot do WDW justice without at least 5 days. There is just so much to do and see. If you have less than five days, take your Birnbaum's guide and pick the major things you want to see.

In the Magic Kingdom, Splash Mountain, Share A Dream Come True Parade, Dumbo, Philharmagic, POTC and the Haunted Mansion, Toontown are must dos.

MGM-Tower of Terror, Rocking Roller Coaster, Great Movie Ride, Movie Stars and Motor Cars Parade, Muppet 3-D, Backlot Tour and Fantasmic are must dos.

Animal Kingdom-It's Tough to Be a Bug, Kilmanjaro Safari, Legend of the Lion King, Tarzan Rocks, Camp Mickey/Minnie, Kali River Rapids and Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade are must dos.

Epcot-I am not a huge fan of Epcot (sorry!), but you must do Journey to your Imagination, Innoventions, Ice Station Cool, the ride in the big silver sphere (can't remember the name right now) and Illuminations. Also, the countries in World Showcase are very interesting, especially the British street performers.

In Downtown Disney, World of Disney is a MUST! It is the world's largest Disney Store and they have everything! Also, Once Upon a Toy is great. You can make your own Disney-themed Mr. Potato Head!

Just a few suggestions. I can't wait for Dec. myself!!! We are doing Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for the first time and I am so excited! It snows on Main Street!! :pink:

Ah, so you are staying in one of the nicer resorts. Good for you! With 7 whole days there, you will get to see and do most everything that you want to do.

Many people enjoy seeing the parks in the order in which they were built. So that means that they would be going to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney MGM Studios, then finally Animal Kingdom. Depending on what day you are arriving, you may not want to do this and this is why.

Go to http://www.disneyworld.com From there you can go to their calendar and see what the operating schedule will be during your visit.

Magic Kingdom's new closing show, "Wishes" only happens on "special nights" which are mainly Saturday nights. (You DO NOT want to miss Magic Kingdom's closing night show or the Spectro Magic parade. They RULE!) Also, MK is usually open later on Saturdays. Also don't miss the "Share a Dream Come True" parade. It usually happens around 4 PM. Great show!

Epcot is generally open same hours every day of the year. Future World will be open early in the morning, World Showcase opens at 11Am and is open until 9 PM. At 9, Epcot has it's closing show "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" Again, you do not want to miss this.

Future world has two big rides, Test Track and Mission: Space. Use Fastpass for these. With 7 days, you can take your time and see everything at your own pace, which I strongly recommend. World Showcase is better appreciated slowly, explore each country, have some food and drink.

The Disney/MGM Studios usually closes at 9 as well. And it has another must see closing show, "Fantasmic!" Get your seat for it an hour early, so think about getting there by 8. It is located near the Beauty and the Beast stage show and the Aerosmith Rock&Rollercoater and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Animal Kingdom closes at 5 PM every day of the year. This is their newest park, so there isn't quite as much to do here as the others have, but it is still an interesting experience. There is NO closing show for this park...yet!

There are two water parks that you can also go to, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Both close early... I think 5 or 6 PM, but again, check with the website to find out.

Finally, you can check out Downtown Disney at night. Most stores there are open to 11PM, restaurants are open to 1 or 2 am and the dance clubs are open to 2am. I assume you are getting the Ultimate Park Hopper ticket? If so, you will probably get a voucher for $25 off dinner at Planet Hollywood. Use it, great place, fun decor! Make sure you see Disney Quest, a 5 story interactive virtual arcade. Also check out the Lego store and the World of Disney store. In Pleasure Island they have several different clubs and there is a place called the Adventures Club, which is like an interactive story that you walk threw. It should be free with your Park Hopper ticket, as is Disney Quest.

So, you have enough time, use it. It is very easy to wear yourself out there, but a week is a great amount of time to have there. Eat in some of the fun places there ... each place has some interesting restaurants, especial World Showcase in Epcot. Some places require priority seating, ESPECIALLY in the Magic Kingdom. Call NOW to make them. The Crystal Palace is a very popular place there, but if you wait until you are on Disney property to make reservations, it may already be too late. There is a restaurant in Cinderella's Castle and you need to make reservations there 6 months in advance.

If you have any other questions, anything specific, feel free to ask!

There are several MUSTS everytime I go to Walt Disney World (which is, on average, 4 times a year):

1. Dinner at Chef Mickeys in the Contemporary Hotel. If you have kids, this is the equivalent of catnip. It's buffet style food, and it's generally pretty good. All of the main characters come out to entertain you: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip, and Dale are the regulars. And, while you're waiting for your table, shop at the stores on the same floor. Some fantastic Disney memorabilia to be found, and an incredible pin stand.

2. Dinner at the Castle in the Magic Kingdom. It used to be King Stefan's but now I believe its called Cinderella's Royal Table. Go at night, and get seated before the fireworks start. It's cool to eat in the castle, its even cooler at night when the ambience is perfect, and when the fireworks begin they dim the lights and you can watch them through the ornate windows. Total magic.

3. You must go to MGM, if only for Tower of Terror and the Rock-n-Roller Coaster. Stay for Fantasmic and eat lunch at the Sci-Fi Drive-In Theater.

4. Epcot is my favorite park. Spend a full day there, enjoying both Future World and the World Pavilions. I live for shopping in Japan, eating dinner at Morocco, drinking beer and grabbing fudge in Germany, taking the boat ride in Mexico, and listening to the Beatles show in England.

5. If the water parks are open -- and I'm not so sure, in March -- hit Blizzard Beach in the morning. After about a half day, dry off and head to Downtown Disney to shop and dine, topping it off with a performance at the magnificent Cirque du Soleil "La Nouba" theater.

6. Tea at the Grand Floridian is always fun. They have some nice shops as well.

7. The Wilderness Lodge is amazing!!! You will have a great time there, no doubt. I make a habit to stay at either the Wilderness Lodge or Port Orleans: Riverside (formerly Dixie Landings). Riverside has those leisurely strolls along the Sassagoula (sp?) River and a nice pool.

8. I've never been a big fan of the Animal Kingdom, so your mileage may vary there. I do like the "It's Tough to Be a Bug" show, as well as "Dinosaur" (formerly Countdown to Extinction). But there's better shows to be found, and there's nothing there that's better than your average zoo.

9. Of course, you have to see the classics at the Magic Kingdom: Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and if you've got the kiddies or are a sucker for nostalgia, Snow White, Peter Pan, and It's A Small World. Enjoy ExtraTerrorestrial while you still can -- if you still can -- and Buzz Lightyear's ride. We make a habit of stopping at the Dole Pineapple stand in Adventureland for those delicious pineapple whip ice creams, the art-nouveau styled sandwich restaurant (whose name I've forgotten) that's just up and to the right off of main street. They serve a pretty good reuben sandwich, tomato soup, and the best darn peanut butter milkshake I've had in years. And skip Toontown. Feh.

10. There's more but suddenly I have to go to bed.
The very existence of Dumbo is a fairly persuasive argument against agnosticism.

You have to the end of the week, then it will be closed until Fall 2004 and reopened as "Stitch Escape!"
