Here it is! Early details of the 1 / 2-disc DVDs for Charlie! I'm mostly satisfied, although I commentary would be most welcom in the DE. Other than that, features sound interesting.

Ha! Exactly like Lemony Snicket. And, as with LS, I shall repeat my act of buying the 2-disc version. I guess the 1-disc version is for the mommies who would rather spend less and get pretty much just the movie rather then get a 2nd one there little kid would probably eat.

The 2-disc extras, like the ones listed for Batman Begins, don't really seem that interesting, so I'm opting for the single-disc edition. And just because I'm opting for single-disc releases doesn't mean I'm a cheapskate - I want to see if the extras have rewatchability before I buy.

But I was surprised to see that the DVD included a Dolby Digital 5.1 EX track - should look and sound great on disc.

The only reason why Tim Burton wanted Johnny Depp to play the role of Willy Wonka is because they both know each other for a long time.
Both Johnny and Tim are like best friends...

Now here's a movie that deserves a 2-disc DVD!!! If it's a one-disc, do NOT buy it, you know it's just going to be a 2-discer later on.

I'm going to buy the 2-Disc, but I like single-disc cover for once compared to the 2-Disc. Change it Warner Brothers! And don't forget to put the Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire trailer on there, I'd love to watch it right at the start when I put Charlie & the Chocolate Factory in my DVD player.

Rest assured, the WB will probably include the trailer for GoF on the DVD releases of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or The Polar Express. But I wish the WB included both teaser and theatrical trailers for all their DVD releases, not just a few.

That's really interesting... I could see Jim Carrey being Willy Wonka. I bet he would've done really well. Or Christopher Walken. But Marilyn Manson? I think that might've been a little TOO scary for kids... haha.

And, I dunno how much I liked this movie. I'm pretty sure I liked the original one better. But I don't think it was a waste to go see it. It was interesting, to say the least. :)

Jim Carry in my opinion is way over the top for the part. Depp walked the line between over-the-top and not too over-the-top just right.

Yeah I agree about the Marilyn Manson thing. Well it was Manson who really tried to convince Tim Burton to cast him, but he never did and I can see why. He's really scary for kids!

I think Christopher Walker almost got the role until Depp came, you can't say no too Depp! :D Plus Burton and Depp have benn friends for a long time.

If I were casting these three people I would consider: Johnny Depp and Jim Carrey and Steve Martin.

I like Steve Martin, but Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp are the people that make big $$$ at the box office!

I do enjoy Jim Carrey, but I never cared much for his acting skills for movies made from popular books like The Grinch of Lemony Snicket!

So overall I think Johnny Depp deserved the part and he was enjoyable to watch! :) He was very weird though! :P

I think the cover for the UK is perfect, or at least better than the US deluxe one.

I also like the U.K. cover better. I like alot of color and I like how all the kids are on it instead of just Johnny.
