OMG! I've been listening to it on repeat, she seems very sincere in the song....and it makes me cry....I <3 it!

Congratulation to Mrs. & Mr. Spears (I literally mean it as Britney & Kevin, not her parents lol, although congrats to them too)

Song: Square Dance
Album: The Eminem Show

Definitely one of my favorite Eminem songs. Question: What's your favorite Eminem radio release... what's your favorite Eminem song overall?

I somehow missed this one! Good pick! ;) Out of the 4 versions of "El Shaddai" that she's recorded, I think this is my least favorite, although some of the lyrical shuffling is interesting, and I still really like it. What do you think?

Hmm...

Favorite radio release is tough... I liked Cleanin' Out My Closet, Lose Yourself, and Sing For The Moment...the Aerosmith fan in me says SFTM, but the personal side of me says one of the other two... but I'll say SFTM.

Favorite release period is really easy...either B**** Please II or Under Tha Influence.

BTW:

Song: Get Loose [Chopped & Screwed]

Song: Beautiful World
Artist: Colin Hay
Album: Scrubs Soundtrack

If you like the kinds of music they use for Scrubs, my guess is you'd like this album. I love it. I wish they'd make a new CD for each season of the show.

Remember a song has to have melody, thus anyone who likes Rap doesn't listen to songs, they are poetry with a rhythm backtrack. And most rap is very bad. Marshall Mathers is one of the worst, he dislikes women and life in general and I will not discuss any of his rapping with anyone.

The words Rap and Music cannot be used in the same sentence. That would be a oxymoron. Rap and Artist would even be worse.

Good rock and roll, or good music in general is what I listen to. Aforementioned groups and artists like Madonna, Aerosmith, Metallica, Amy Grant, some Backstreet Boys, Boys II Men, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, (can you believe that is has been almost 40 years and Mick and the boys are still making music). As for the no-talents listed here like Brittany (ugh!), Christina (puke!), Jessica or Ashlee (horrible!), or Hilary, they have all outlasted their fifteen minutes of fame and should be ignored. Definitely are not role models that you should want emulate.

Yeah but you know sometimes you got to listen to something different once in a while instead of the same stuff. Which is the reason why I listen to rap. Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, DMX and Geto Boys are my favorite. And you know I go totally the opposite and listen to symphonic music like John Williams, he's one of the best composers today. Then in between I listen to all kinds of rock (classic, contemp and hard).

I think you just did.

That's debatable.

If rap doesn't have melody, what does it have? I doubt you're talking about a capella rapping here.

Music isn't usually about role models. And also, neither is quality music. Image of a musician by itself, doesn't affect the music one way or the other.

In your opinion, but you might have some real racial issues to deal with also. You're typecasting all forms of rap as non-music and then saying most of it is bad just because you don't agree with the image of rappers.

Rap has proven many a time to be a valid and important form of music. Now, today it has a lot of negative stereotyping to fight through. Many of it brought on by the sorry image of these new party rappers who demean the integrity and importance of work done by real rap/hip hop artists/outfits such as Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, De La Soul, Salt N Pepa, LL Cool J, Heavy D, Public Enemy, KRS One, The Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Common, E-40, Black Eyed Peas (before Fergie joined), Busta Rhymes, Timbaland & Magoo, Missy Elliot

You might actually have something with that anti-woman arguement. Try elaborating on that.

On another forum we discussed what would happen if you took the language out of the rap. There wouldn't be anything left. Why do people not buy their rap CD's at Wal-Mart? Because they are edited for content and the rough language is gone. Thusly, they sit on the shelf gathering dust. How many radio stations play unedited rap stuff. None. And how many stations play The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Aerosmith, and the like?

How many of those rap people that you listed Lazario does anyone remember. They don't have the staying power of contemporary artists. Most rap stars (if you can call them that) are just tomorrow's memories.

And it has nothing to do with race or the color of a person's skin or what church they go to.

I don't buy CD's at Wal Mart anyways because of the editing. I don't think I ever bought a CD at Wal Mart cuz not only to they sell just the edited versions but they have a real crappy selection too.

And as always it depends on a person's taste if they don't like rap that's fine. I don't like country music and are you going to care about that?

Now great music is about staying power? It only takes one generation to make a music act a legend. The Beatles would not be one of the biggest and most popular music outfits in history if they hadn't exploded in the 1960s and had a huge amount of people who did NOT like them. Rap, like pop, still has yet to prove that it's not a flash in the pan. But it already has to most people, and it will last. The reason why the artists don't have the exact same staying power as The Rolling Stones? Simple, racism. A black artist will never have the same amount of success because of the simple fact that black people were looked at as second class citizens, even when rap was at it's most popular phases in the 1990s. While Snoop Doggy Dogg, 2-Pac, Dr. Dre, Will Smith, The Notorious B.I.G. were 'coming up', we had things like the Rodney King beating to remind us that racism was still VERY prevalent. And that meant that rap was never going to be used as a full-on form of rebellion like The Beatles were. The Beatles were a life statement that represented change in America, it was THE time when all of a sudden people couldn't get away with making the arguement that popular music was a dangerous influence, on a national level anymore. But the members of the Beatles, the Who, the Rolling Stones, and Aerosmith were all white males. Neither of whom endured half of the public backlish female and black artists in the mainstream have from discrimination. They have had to work harder to prove themselves, but people like you haven't managed to tear down their work because of your issues.

It is racist to enjoy soft or safe-sounding music by black artists, while hating all other music you associate with a certain race that is hard or angry. You also deny the importance for artists to curse in their songs. But you still have failed to realize that quality music is not a GAME of who's image is more wholesome or conventional. And furthermore, it seems your mind is simply not open enough to appreciate or understand these facts. People can have a distaste for rap, for some it is an acquired taste that requires some learned appreciation for the influences of rap. But to the degree you've taken upon yourself to trash this genre of music, it does suggest that you have racial issues. You can also argue that Enimen is white. But as usual, I'm way ahead of you. It's his artform you can't stand. Though I'm not saying there aren't real problems with Enimen's songs, I've noticed it myself. However, you choose to keep swinging more insults at black rap.

And by the way, I don't know ONE self-respecting music fan who thinks Wal-Mart is the best place to buy their music from. In addition to refusing to sell albums with Parental Advisory labels on them, they do not carry good selections of classic music genres, including rock. Their selection of Beatles and Rolling Stones records, in addition to many, many other artists, is pitiful to say the least.

I don't really enjoy rap, but I wouldn't say that it's not music.

Music is music. If I were to bang my fist against my computer desk and blown my nose, that could be music. Not very good music, but music nonetheless.

Well, I've never been to a forum that DIDN'T have some "RAP ISN'T REAL MUSIC LOLZ!!!" or "EMINEM'S A POSER HE THINK'S HE BLACK OMG!" post somewhere. Can some people just grow up and accept that there are different styles of music that you may not like, please?

My last 10 songs, thanks to Audioscrobbler:

Evanescence - "Tourniquet"
Jump5 - "Throw Your Hands Up"
Eminem - "Any Man"
The Chipmunks - "Alvin and the Chipmunks"
Beastie Boys - "Super Disco Breakin'"
N.W.A - "Straight Outta Compton"
Jump5 - "Shining Star"
Beastie Boys - "She's on It"
Eminem - "Searchin"
t.A.T.u. - "Scream (Fly Dream Mix)"

Anyway, to whoever asked earlier in the thread, my favorite Eminem songs overall are:

"'97 Bonnie and Clyde"
"Gulity Conscience"
"Stan"
"White America"
"Without Me"
"Like Toy Soldiers"

And, my favorite D12 song is "Get My Gun".
