Who likes AMERICAN DAD??
At 1st I wasn't really interested in this show, but last Sunday, and last night (Adult Swim) I saw some Laugh Out Load funny episodes. I think this show is finally becoming good, which is great. I am actually wanting to know if they are going to release season 1 on DVD any time soon, and also, are they still in season 1?

Well I love the Simpsons and I really enjoy Family Guy but I don't like this show at all. I try to watch it since it comes after Family Guy, and it isn't funny at all. It ranks with South Park as the worst Simpsons like show.
Stick with The Simpsons or Family Guy instead!
If last week's episode didn't guest-star Patrick Stewart I don't think Isidour would like it the show that much!

It has its' funny moments, but I don't think it's nearly as good as Family Guy or The Simpsons. Personally, when I first found out about the show, I just thought that it was just a way for the writers of Family Guy to say the jokes that they were too afraid to say on Family Guy, and I'm starting to think that I was right.

I tried watching American Dad a few times, including the Patrick Stuart Episode. I don't really know, it's got its moments, but the whole show is very forgettable. I like the alien though. What's his name again?

Honestly, the Pilot was AWFUL. After that though, it's been all A+.TheLittleMerman wrote:I can't really say that I like it, because what I saw on the Pilot Episode was drab; nothing like the laugh out loud, pee your pants, squirt milk out of your nose (Okay. I'll stop now) sister show, Family Guy.

What was the plot of the pilot episode again? That might have been the first one I saw.DaveWadding wrote:Honestly, the Pilot was AWFUL. After that though, it's been all A+.
Bingo! And as a result, I feel both shows spread themselves more than a little thin. That's one of the worst things a show can be, because then there's no reason to watch (other than, I suppose but can't imagine, the lame and stupid characters) other than those moments everyone is expecting- political/social commentary (moments which are so unbelievably fleeting, that they're simply not worth basing an entire animated show around). Then, what is Family Guy going to do? Rip-off episode plots and jokes from The Simpsons and all the shows following in the same vein (Futurama, South Park, King of the Hill, etc.). This show should seriously be cancelled, immediately. But hey, I know everyone loves those shows that don't say or do anything worthwhile. Making us once again have to recognize how amazing The Simpsons was and long for more new Simpsons episodes.Pasta67 wrote:Personally, when I first found out about the show, I just thought that it was just a way for the writers of Family Guy to say the jokes that they were too afraid to say on Family Guy, and I'm starting to think that I was right.

Couldn't agree with you more. The first few episodes weren't very funny... but then last weeks episode was a riot! Hopefully they continue getting better.MICKEYMOUSE wrote:At 1st I wasn't really interested in this show, but last Sunday, and last night (Adult Swim) I saw some Laugh Out Load funny episodes.
