I watched Kiki's Delivery Service last night, which was my first viewing of it ever, i really liked it, the story was sweet and happy and i recommend it to anyone

Been watching an Astaire marathon:
Film Rating (1-10)
Funny Face 8
Follow That Fleet 6
Barkeys On Broadway 7
Top Hat 9
Shall We Dance 8

Nobody could dance as well as Astaire even though Rogers does a good job. (OK, Hepburn was in the first one.) Great stuff but it is as formulatic than a Scooby-Doo cartoon. Still have Swing Time to watch but I don't know if I can take another one of Astaire/Rogers film.

Rosalind Russell was marvelous as Mother Superior in both films.

I watched The Hot Chick or whatever on FX. One word... Stupid! Do they have to make Rob Schneider be stupid things like an animal, or a gigalo? Come on!

Hope those of you who think the 2005 version of The Longest Yard is a good movie watch the original version with Burt Reynolds, Eddie Albert, and James Hampton. It is a far superior movie to the Adam Sandler garbage. They should never have remade this film, in my opinion. Can't wait to see how badly Jim Carrey ruins "Fun With Dick and Jane". There is another classic film that should have been left alone.

Back to the subject - we watched what I think is one of the best trilogies before LOTR and that is the original H.B. Halicki classics: Gone in 60 Seconds, The Junkman and Deadline Auto Theft. If you like to see a lot of cars wrecked and totally destroyed, these are the movies for you. Guinness World Book of Records lists these movies as the three 'most destructive movies ever made'. Over 500 cars were totally destroyed in the several different car chases in these films. Forget the Nicolas Cage remake of "Gone in 60 Seconds", it is pure rip-off and has no heart when it comes to movie-making. The originals are still the best.

And of course that is just my humble opinion. I think that Hollywood has lost it's originality by remaking all of these old classics instead of coming up with something new.

I like the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds, it's one of my favorite movies just because I really like cars. I want Elenor so very much.

I mean they put some good actors in it instead of Adam Sandler or Rob Schneider.

Watched 'How's Moving Castle' today, i loved it, some bits were a bit weird towards the end, but the music was beautiful and overall the movie was amazing!

Balck Caldron (4) - Sorry just did not like it. Felt like it was a kiddie version of LOTR with the all that army of dead stuff. (I put it here because I didn't want write two posts. )
Swing Time (9) - The best Astaire/Rogers IMO because it has the best dancing & songs. Even though it had the right intentions, the black face is unfortunate.
The Man Cheated Himself (7) - Melodramatic noir on PD copy but it still was excellent with the normally respectable Jane Wyatt as the femme fatale.
Hollow Truimph (The Scar) (6) - Another noir on PD copy but a great switch of identities that fails in the end.

Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring - I'm actually starting to like this.... I still think it's way too overrated, but it's a good movie never the less! 3.5/5
