PM's

Post by Escapay »

I just got one from Pals saying I was mean to DVDjunkie. I personally thought the point of a PM was to keep it private. If DVDjunkie has a problem with what I said in my PM, he should tell me, not Pals.

Hey, I'm telling you so you better stop. DVDjunkie is a great guy and good friend and I want to keep it that way.

Hey, I'm telling you so you better stop.
So everything you tell people they have to follow? Like I said before, if DVDjunkie has a problem with me, he should tell me, not Pals, not Luke, not Alan. Me.

Did DVDjunkie tell you what I told him in my PM? Did the two of you decide to attack me now just because I'm not his biggest fan?

DVDjunkie's PM to me

Don't understand how a person can like or dislike a movie that they have never seen. You and Laz seem to be bonded on this hatred of certain movies. Do you compare notes or what?

"War of the Worlds" was a very good movie, I liked the original a lot better, but this will find its way into my collection.

"When Worlds Collide" is a George Pal (Special Effects specialist) film directed by Rudolph Mate' and starring Richard Derr and Barbara Rush. It is a story about the impending collision of the Earth with another planet. For its time, it had really good special effects, but a Director's Cut would really be a welcome addition to any collection.

And the point of this PM was.... :?

I never said I disliked WOTW in the thread, just that I don't think I'd be inclined to see it based on other people's reviews of it, not necessarily Lazario's alone. No, we don't compare notes. I don't think we've "bonded" either over hatred of certain movies. That came out of left field, IMHO.

DVDJunkie, I'm going to be honest. I personally don't like reading your posts. At times, you give this high horse attitude that for some reason says to me that you think that since you're older, you'll automatically know more and must be right about everything you talk about, while us ignorant young people have no idea what we should enjoy based on your standards. Different strokes for different folks, something you should learn. There are several classic movies I dislike, such as The Godfather movies. Do people come to me and say, "Well, your age shows that you can't appreciate this movie for what it is, therefore your reasons for disliking it is wrong." No, they simply accept that I don't like it and they move on. You seem to want everyone to know your opinion, and that your opinion must be the right one because you've been alive a couple more decades than the rest of us. Bullshit.

War of the Worlds 2005 did not seem interesting to me based simply on trailers and reviews. It has nothing to do with Lazario or with comparing it to the original. Some movies I just don't think I'll like, so I won't bother watching them. Does it make me ignorant to great movie making? Does it make me and Lazario bosom buddies who get together every Saturday night and diss a movie till it's dead? All I said was I haven't seen it, but a part of me is saying I shouldn't, and Laz was basically agreeing with me, and I am giving him the benefit of the doubt and taking his word that it may not be good. He compared it to Day after Tomorrow and Minority report, two good action movies that fell flat when it came to story, IMO.

Please do not PM me ever again. If you have something to say to me, such as say "GET A LIFE" (in the Napoleon Dynamite thread), then say it flat out.
I PM'ed him because I wanted him to know how I felt about his posting. PM as in Personal Message, or private. He had no reason to share this with Pals just as I had no reason to post it here, but I'm doing so because I'm offended that Pals would stick his nose in where it doesn't belong.

I don't enjoy reading dvdjunkie's posts half the time because of the way he comes off. Does that mean I don't like him as a person? I don't know him so I really can't like or dislike him. But I dislike his attitude he gives off in his posts. That's all. And whether or not I like/dislike his posts is my business, not Pals's.

Escapay, DVDjunkie just told me you were giving him a hard time and he was thinking of leaving UD. I just PM you behind DVDjunkie's back okay, man. I don't want him to leave UD so just let him have his opinions okay. You can share his opinions but you don't have to get so negative about it. When I was chatting with him he didn't agree with everything I said but I just told him it's okay.

1) This thread seems better suited for e-mail.

2) The PMs in question being discussed waste bandwidth in ways that e-mail does not. PMs are good for quick, one-time correspondence, not survivor alliance discussions or votes or hostile commands to one another.

MickeyMousePal, I've warned you repeatedly in the past about using e-mails instead of PMs for regular communication, and in fact, you've had your PM privileges twice revoked. If you're looking for a third time, that can be arranged.

The same general advisory about using e-mails rather than PMs remains for all, in most situations. Thanks for understanding.
