The Legend of Zelda Discussion
Hey guys! I've been away for a while now (work is chewing through my time like there is no tommorow) but now I wanted to start up a legitimate and serious discussion of The Legend of Zelda Nintendo video games. First of all, who here has played/are interested in them?
This series of games is easily the best set of adventure games out there today and even the old NES ones still hold themselves against the modern games.
Perhaps the most appealing part of these games is the thought that you have to put into them to get places. They're not mindless shooting games where all you do is just run around and shoot things that come your way. Instead you have to use your brain and always pay attention to your surroundings in order to find the many items that are necessary to move forward in the game.
Furthermore, I have to add that I am really looking forward to Twilight Princess the newest installment in the series. Even though it has been delayed until next year, I see that as a positive thing. The development team need the extra time to make this game the best it can, and I'd really like it to be the best ever (although Ocarina of Time is the best now, I'm kind of hoping Twilight Princess will dethrone it, but it's going to be a tough competition)
Post your thoughts, feelings, questions, etc in this thread, and we'll see if we can get an intelligent discussion going

Zelda rocks!
, the Zelda and Final Fantasy series are my favourite, but i loved Majora's Mask the first time i played it on N64, even though people see Ocarina of Time as the greatest of all Zelda, i've always preffered MM, i don't know why
, i suppose i liked the time changes, and being a Zora, that was ace!
*i've got an urge to play it now

I HAVE THEM ALL!!!
I became a fan on N64, and then when GC arrived, I decided to get them all in just one platform.
I have:
Wind Waker
Ocarina/ MQ
Collector's Edition
...got a GB Player just for:
Link's Awakening DX
Oracle of Seasons (my favorite of the 2)
Oracle of Ages (couldn't finish it and a stupid A@@^&*$ lost it
)
ALTTP
Minish Cap
... now I'm pissed because
I won't be able to play TP before I go to Spain.

We've only got the original Nintendo Legend of Zelda. And what's really sad is I was horrible at the game, and beat my very first fortress/castle two years ago. And we've had the damn thing for fifteen years.
I remember reading that the creator of Legend of Zelda was inspired by the movie Legend, and after watching the movie and remembering the game, the similarities are quite uncanny. Would be cool if they made a Legend of Zelda movie, or at least a remake of the 1985 Legend.

My first system was Sega Genesis... so I was a Sonic lad growing up. But then came N64 and I got that. My friend told me about Ocarina of Time and made me play it and I fell in love. Then Majora's Mask came out and I was so excited I love that game too!
I never real got into Link's Awakening DX... I own it but I never beat it sadly.
Wind Waker on GCN was alright but I find myself getting bored with it what with the sailing and whatnot. I do like the connections to OoT (b/c IMO... that's when the game really picks up)
I'm looking forward to the newest Zelda!

But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I still have my original Zelda and Zelda II on NES (w/ boxes and instructions!)
I also have Link's Awakening DX, Oracle of Ages, and Oracle of Seasons on GBC (again with boxes and instructions.)
I have A Link to the Past on SNES, but no box or instructions.
I have the collector's editions (w/ boxes & instructions) of both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on N64.
I have Four Swords Adventures, Collector's Edition, Ocarina of Time/Master Quest, and WindWaker on Gamecube.
And finally, on GBA, I have A Link to the Past/Four Swords and The Minish Cap. I don't have any of the NES Classic series, since I have the originals.
Someday, I would love to find the Phillips CD-I Zelda games, even though they are horrible...

Let me give a little background on these games, since I love them. This is my favorite saga.
My first game was OCARINA. And I just loved it. It is a gama I have beaten so many times I've lost the count already... it was the first game where I could feel that it took me away from the world and into Hyrule's. I loved spending time in it.... when I was about to finish it I even felt sad because of this.
...and then I thiught I wouldn't be able to experience another Zelda until GC. But thank God MAJORA'S was announced. I didn't waste time in preordering it. Most people don't like this game because of the atmosphere and gameplay... but I loved it. In fact, sometimes I prefer it over OCARINA; and I think the ending (with all the masks) is much more emotional than Ocarina's.
GC came ans so Wind Waker. This game didn't impress me at all. I felt like I was playing it just because, and especially the connection with Ocarina. But the sailing parts and the Triforce search was a complete pain. I wouldn't have mind waiting to buy it instead of getting it the first day.... but I wanted so much that MASTER QUEST; that I haven't been able to finish it because of how hard it is.
... I wanted more Zelda, and so I traded a game of mine with a friend's for the COLLECTOR'S. The original Zelda I find it is too difficult and I just can't finish it. Zelda 2 I had when I was a kid but didn't understand it. This one tough, altough difficult. I find easier to play.
GB Player? Should I get it just for the Zeldas for GB? YES! My first was LINK'S AWAKENING DX. I thought that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much as the others, but I was wrong. As I got hooked to it.
... the same thing was with ORACLE OF SEASONS but AGES I don't find it as enjoyable.
ALTTP you might be surprised but I don't like it very much. Although it much has to do with the fact that everytime I want to play, I just get past the first couple of dungeons and for things that happen I have to leave the game... and then start all over.
MINISH CAP was a pleasure and joy to play.
.... and I'm so pissed that I won't be able to play the new GC game because I'll be in Spain and won't be back until July... and not even then I'll be able to play, since I'm expecting to come back with a friend(s) and he/they will stay for the whole month.... So no Zelda for me until August 2006.
