Not sure if it is new, but Amazon.com has changed the names of the sets. They now end with collection.

"Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers - Volume One Collection"

"Ducktales - Volume One Collection"

Before Ducktales was just "Ducktales vol one (1987)

and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers was just "Rescue Rangers"
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!

I really like the Chip 'N Dale cover! DT, on the other hand, sucks. Talk about plain and unappealing.

I think I'm one of the few people looking forward to Chip 'N Dale more than Duck Tales. Don't get me wrong, I love DT, but I enjoy CNDRR even more.

The artwork for both DuckTales and Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers looks really good but will they include the plot episodes?

Okay- so we have the box art and we know that both sets have eps 1-27. Can someone tell me the episode list and what's missing from both sets, e.g. Pilot episodes and Pilot movies.

they shouldve used the opening shot from the show for the DuckTales box.. or any of the Barks or Don Rosa comic covers. thats some pretty ugly looking artwork.

I was wondering when these two were going to pop up! I have been worried as there hasn't been that much news on the set. It looks like they won't get any bonus features, yet I am not all that bothered as at least we're getting them.

Although I agree in saying that the Chip and Dale cover is the better one of the two; I have to disagree with Aaron on the subject of the Duck Tales cover; in my opinion, it looks quite cool. It kinda reminds me of the Cartoon Classics cover design...that's probably because the characters are set against a colour background and partially popping out of a hole of some sort.

Just a question; why has Disney been releasing fact sheets instead of full blown press releases? I understand that not every title will get a 1000 word essay of a press release like Cinderella, but the fact sheets seem a bit small and ironically titled, as they don't give that many facts. :|

The CNDRR artwork is wonderfull, being simple but conveying the characters of the show in a manner that is visualy interesting. That was probably what they were trying for with DT, but ran out of time and used a Microsoft Publisher Template. If they just threw a bit of the late 80's into that cover it would look great...

It's nice to wake up to the sight of the covers. :)
I like the covers although they aren't anything special. The Chip n' Dale one looks like the better of the two although I don't plan on getting it right away. (I'm hoping they will be reduced in price later although Gargoyles never reduced in price but went the other way and became hard to find very fast)

Cover art didn't wow me, but I want the shows. I dont really mind no extra features or anything. It keeps the cost down and at the end of the day I'm buying the product for the show, not the making of the show.

Of the two it's no contest which I like more (Ducktales) but I will def. get both. I also don't expect to see a price drop on them anytime soon. $25 is about it when it usually comes to these kinds of sets.

According to http://www.ducktales.freeservers.com, Episode 27 is the first of a four-episodes storyline. Is this correct? If so, why would they split them up between volumes like that?

Unless the pilots aren't on the set.

Or it is possible they just did as a cliffhanger move.

Simpsons did it in Season 6 with the Mr. Burns.

I dont terribly mind that much.

Another scary thought which just occured to me is this.

You have 100 episodes, if you take out the pilot you have 95. If you take out the Bubba duck series you have 90. If you take out the Gizmo Duck 5 parter you now have 85. Minus the 4 parter contest episodes and you have 81 episodes.

This set has 27 episodes. 27 x3 (sets) = 81 episodes.

Which means we'll be seeing the "movies" seperatly. Hope it doesn't happen but with the math it's not impossible.

Well if you do the match Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers had a two hour pilot (like 4 episodes)
Then if you continued the volumes like this:
Rescue Rangers Vol 1 - 27 episodes (episodes 1 - 27)
Rescue Rangers Vol 2 - 27 episodes (episodes 28 - 54)
Rescue Rangers Vol 3 - 20 episodes (5 part episodes, 4 pilot, 11 after 54)

Ducktales Vol 1 - 27 episodes; episodes 1 - 27 (not first mini-series)
Ducktales Vol 2 - 27 episodes; episodes 30 - 57
Ducktales Vol 3 - 58 episodes; 80, 86, 87, 88
Ducktales Vol 4 - 12 episodes

I don't know because 12 isn't a lot. Then again Gargoyles only had 13.
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!

When I saw this on the first page I thought, "The General Topic's going to get alot more threads!" :P

I have to disagree with Aaron though, I personally loved the DT cover, it looked really cool. I thought the CNDRR looked incredibly "plain", but I still liked it, just not as much as DuckTales.

What really bothers me is the episode mix up! I like it when it's neat and in order. Plus wouldn't it just be easier to have 4 sets with 25 episodes in them!

Oh well at least it's DuckTales is coming to DVD! :D
