Here are my favorites:

The Lion King-Platinum editions:Despite the fact of a lame DVD, this is still my favorite Disney movie!

Star Wars Trilogy(original)/Indiana Jones Trilody: My 2 favorite trilogies with excellent transfers and some good feautures.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit-Vista Series: Aside from Snow White(which I don't have :( ) I might consider this the BEST 2-Disc DVD around! Seriously there tons of bonus features! Plus the movie itself is a treasure to behold!

The Rocky and Bullwinkle series: While most people would probably say their favorite animated series are, "The Simpsons" or "Family Guy" my favorite show is what could be considered The Simpsons of the 60's! A terrific show with a brave flying squirrel, a dumb but loveable talking moose, a narrator who talks so fast that your bound to miss something, evil villians hilarious Russian-accents and non-stop commercial breaks and loads of refrences to everything out there, what's not to like? :D You gotta love it!

The Pink Panther series: Terrific live-action cartoons! :D Just seeing Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom make the movies worth watching! The bonus features are lacking, but the movies themselves are treasures!

Toy Story-10th Anniversary Addition: I just got it(haven't watched it yet on DVD) But being a favorite of mine since age 5, I'm just glad to finally have it! :D

Groundhog Day: Bill Murray, the funniest man living to day! A hilarious comedy you can watch over and over again! The DVD is nothing too fantastic, but there are some things worth wild.

Aladdin: Another one of my favorites! The DVD is also PACKED with stuff. After watching all the bonus features, I probably know everything you need to know about this movie! That's how much there was!

Pirates of the Carribean: A very fun movie with a worthy DVD. Definatly a film that'd fit perfectly to your collection.

Back to the Future: Despite the fact of being in crappy full-screen, the movie still look and sound great and the DVDs surprisingly contain alot!

Anchor Bay's Dario Argento Collection titles: Deep Red (1975), Suspiria (1977), Inferno (1979), Tenebre (1982), Phenomena (1984), and Opera (1987). The video transfers are amazing, all of the films are at least mostly uncut (the full 115-minute version of Phenomena is the kind of thing we'll just never see in the States, unless Blue Underground can pull off a miracle - they've done it before), and every disc contains a decent batch of special features, most importantly they all have interviews (some are in commentary form). Their releases of Deep Red and Phenomena extended each film by nearly a half-hour a piece! Tenebre and Phenomena have audio commentaries, all the DVDs are in widescreen, all have trailers, all the films Argento collaborated with Goblin on contain commentary/interviews with the band. Anchor Bay just did their best on bringing excellent versions of each of these movies to U.S. fans of great Italian horror cinema. And their release of Suspiria is one of their 3 finest packages ever assembled, I urge EVERY SINGLE PERSON HERE to buy it if you have a DVD player and are a fan of good movies, period! This amazing THREE DISC LIMITED EDITION is on sale right now at Deep Discount DVD for $7! At that price, it's criminal for horror fans NOT to own it. I paid $23 for mine, and that's when it was cheap at Best Buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any John Waters film on DVD, I currently own Desperate Living (1977), Polyester (1981), Hairspray (1988), Serial Mom (1994), Pecker (1998), and Cecil B. Demented (2000). His DVDs all have audio commentaries except for Cry-Baby, and then Cry-Baby is one of the most feature-packed of his DVDs anyway. He's one of the most fascinating figures in popular entertainment and his comments on his films, pop culture, society, and the entertainment industry are not to be missed when one has any opportunity to hear them. His audio commentary for Pecker is one of the most entertaining of all time and should be required listening to anyone who's ever clammored for an audio commentary to be on a DVD it wasn't on.

Carnival of Souls: The Criterion Collection - It will cost a good film fan in the neighborhood of $30-33, but it is worth EVERY LAST PENNY!! First of all, the video/audio transfer is AMAZING, it will make your jaw drop if you see this after seeing any of the film's embarassing incarnations on 2-cent DVDs distributed by Madacy, AMC/Genius, Delta, or any other company for that matter. This is a low budget industrial cult horror film from 1962, and Criterion makes it look as though it could have been made in the late 1990s!!!! The film on this Criterion DVD is just SO SHARP, CLEAR, and BEAUTIFUL, that Disney & THX themselves could not have done any better. And is this DVD ever packed with special features! They are actually not as numerous as they are just amazingly informative and archival - a 30 minute 1989 documentary on the movie's history and re-release with important footage from all over the place, over 40 minutes of footage deleted from the film (and it all looks as good as the film itself!), an hour of award-nominated industrial short films made by the company who financed Carnival of Souls, a 1999 video tour of the locations shot in the movie, the original theatrical trailer, photo galleries, text essays, text crew profiles, and 2 versions of the movie: the 75-minute theatrical version and the 83-minute Director's Cut.

Heathers: THX Edition - Anchor Bay does an ALMOST perfect job on this 1989 cult film. In the special feature department, this DVD is really only missing the films excellent TV spots. But it's anamorphic widescreen, the audio/video transfer is the best the movie's ever looked, it gives us the film's widescreen trailer, a top-notch audio commentary, an absolutely essential 30-minute documentary with new interviews from the main living cast and crew members: Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannon Daugherty, Lisanne Falk, and the director, writer, and producer of the movie, plus the script excerpt dealing with the film's original ending.

Any MGM Midnite Movies Double Feature. What would classic horror fans do without them?

Jawbreaker - my first DVD. It will always hold a special place.

Audrey Hepburn Collection along with all her other movies- mainly because it is Audrey Hepburn, and let's say that I was *robbed* of my DVDs, I'd remain calm as long as they don't take Audrey Hepburn away from me. :)

Toy Story Box Set- only because a lot of people still want this Box Set, and it's rare. It wasn't expensive for us either.

Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook- 3 movies inspired by Nicholas Sparks' books. Hope they add more to it because his books make great movies!

ET Gift Set- it's OOP, feature both theatrical and the other release, has a film cell, and when you look at it, you think, "WOW! I'm keeping this forever!"

Gone With the Wind 4-Disc- can you say ultimate romance and tearjerker?!

And lots more:
- Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Tarzan CE, TENG CE (all OOP titles [except TENG] that people are still looking for)
- Rock Hudson & Doris Day Collection (because those two are extremely cute in their movies! and I enjoy watching it a lot of times.)
- Jurassic Park (4-Disc Box Set) because of it's COOL packaging, and the bonus disc. And it's OOP.

..there are LOTS that are our *FAVORITE*, but the ones that are OOP or really sought after by people are the top. ;)

Well, off the top of my head (I'm sure I will change my mind as soon as I post this, or think of something I've forgotten...)

Shuan of the Dead R2 Edition
The UK release contains more supplements, but its the film that matters, and Shaun is a keeper.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show 25th Anniversary Edition R1
A good 2 disc set (although perhaps the branching could do with a little more work) which is very packed. But most importantly, we finally get a proper Stereo mix, using the proper sound elements. Bravo Fox!

The League of Gentlemen Christmas Special R2
Although the actual content of this disc is a one hour television special, it's the best work the League have done (I've yet to the the movie) and the supplements are meaty too. Love the featurette on horror anthologies in general, but with an emphasis on the 70's UK anthologies) and the uinedited radio interview is something I've listened to many times.

Black Adder: The Complete Collection R1
The picture is disappointing. The supplements are almost non-existent. But at least it is 'complete' unlike the UK box. Worth treasuring just for the Ink and Incapability[/b] episode of Black Adder The Third

The Mummy (1932) Universal Classic Monsters R1
I suppose the Mummy Legacy collection tops this now, after all it includes everything from the original release, and all the sequels too. But somehow, the original single disc just seems and feels better. Not just one of the best horror films of all time, but one of the best films of all time.

Last Memories: The Art and Music Of Silent Hill R2 Japan
This is a disc containing all the various trailers for the first three Silent Hill games, as well as the complete soundtracks for the games too. In addition there are picture galleries, short films and general weirdness. I still find myself putting this on for a spin at least once every couple of weeks, just to view some of the superb Silent Hill 2 trailers again.

The Prisoner Complete Series R4 Australia
I also have the UK set, but the Australian set wins out on supplements and picture quality. The Prisoner is one of the best series ever made and shown on TV, and this set is required viewing for anybody.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire Collector's Edition R2
Well, I had to have one Disney DVD in the list, and this is the one. Unlike most people, I actually like the film itself. But its undoubtably the best example of a documentary available on a Disney DVD. The whole supplements on both discs have, in my opinion, never been bettered. Plus, the UK one comes with a shiny slipcover that opens "like a shampoo bottle".
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

My favorite dvds are ones with a lot of special features..or just a few select features that are really entertaining.

I think the ones at the top of my list are Beauty and the Beast Platinum Edition and Aladdin Platinum Edition. Also the other platinum editions, some special and collector's editions, and all the pixar dvds are near the top.

As for non-Disney, Battle Royale (Korean version, comes with Battle Royale II: The Requiem) and Alkaline Trio Halloween at the Metro (hi-larious commentary!) are the best.

My favorite DVDs:

Friends: The One With All Ten Seasons: While I'm still missing Season 10 (After all, it hasn't been released in Canada yet), I watched it the first time around and loved it, so it's inclusion is a no brainer. And furthermore, the day it comes out I'll be getting it and then sending in for the special box. I can't wait. Why does this top my list? It's hands-down the funniest show of all time, and I can relate to it sometimes. The DVDs aren't loaded with extras, but I don't buy movies for special features (The only reason I "double dip" is to upgrade non-anamorphic transfers).

Wing Commander: Many people trash the movie, but I really enjoy it. Mind you, next to the games it's horrid, but on it's own it's a good popcorn flick. This was the DVD that started it all, it was this purchase that inspired my parents to buy a DVD player. I bought it at a time when we didn't have one. I remember paying $35.99 for this disc in at Music World, now you can find it for $7.99. Go Figure!

Black Adder: The Complete Collection: British comedy at it's funniest. Somebody mentioned poor video quality, I don't think it is at all. It's not top notch, but then again it's not bad, it's about average.

The Thin Blue Line: The Complete Lineup: On par with Black Adder. Rowan Atkinson is hillarious, and PC Goody is perhaps the funniest character I have ever seen on TV. If you haven't seen this BBC classic, watch it!

The Kids Are Alright: THE greatest documentary ever made. Do you have a fleeting interest in 60's and 70's rock? See this movie! Even if you only have a fleeting interest in The Who, you'll definetely be a fan after seeing this documentary
Cheers!

It was a present, and a good one. I was a big fan of the movie at the time. Plus since I was a DVD newbie, I didn't care as much about special features as I do now.

And at least Jawbreaker is extremely artistic, and somewhat interesting. Not like Gladiator, the dullest, most boring huge-budget snoozefest of the new millenium (before Troy and Passion of the Christ, that is). With Jawbreaker, there is never a dull moment, every frame of the film is visually stimulating. Sure in the end it's just unintelligent fluff, but it was also the only movie for a long time before and after which tried to be subversive and dark. Gladiator is a dime a dozen, Jawbreaker is not quite as common. At least Jb is somewhat rewarding, if you take the time to look and listen.

No, Gladiator was definitely an overhyped piece of mainstream trash.
And Jawbreaker was a joke. But did you get the joke?
