I just got the E.T. 4-disc Ultimate Edition limited collector's set (what an awesome box set!) and it came with this senitype-? in a plastic slip case with an adhesive strip accross the top (basically a small sticky plastic bag). Anyways, I tried to seal off the slipcase but the adhesive strip got bunched against the plastic and upon peeling it off, I ripped the thing in half. Where would I find a similair packaging type to store this now? I dont even know what to ask for at the pharmacy or hardware store and I figured since many of you are dvd collectors, maybe youd know of an online site which specifically sells these movie related collectibles and hopefully I'd be able to find a packaging suited ideally for this online, in otherwords - a senitype slipcase holder of sorts.
I'm probably crazy for even caring about this but I dont want to just toss it back into the box, it looks like a film negative and I dont want it to get damaged, plus it looked perfect in it's original plastic shrinkwrap cause the dimensions were exact. Anyways, anybody care to help out a ridiculously compulsive dvd addict?
If anyone has this boxset btw, I'd be willing to trade that little blue wrap-around band from teh Disney Treasures sets for this little plastic bag, haha.
Okay, thats it for me...
Um... Thanks.
This is really stupid and trivial..
Why not just put it in a little plastic bag? You yourself said thats what the original slip was like.
And I'm not expert on preserving celluloid, but my Star Wars Episode I film cell collectible didn't come in a case - it was just packaged in the box set with the video & art book. It hasn't shown any signs of damage at all.
But I understand your compulsivness. I tend to keep most of my memorabilia in plastic covers to, even it isn't needed.

well this isnt a cel, it looks like one of those negatives you get when you pick up photos from the drugstore. id just assume it should be kept in a seal of some sort and like i said, im obsessive; i dont want to put it in a plastic bag cause itll look sloppy and the original slipcase was a thin clear plastic seal the exact size of the negative and came with an adhesive strip, plus the boxset looks so perfect! i figure since there are collectors of this sort of thing, there must be some sort of generic slipcase i could buy that would fit these perfectly as id assume they all come in approx the same dimensions. i was just asking if anyone knew of such a thing that was made just for this purpose as my original one seemed to be?

MMboy to the rescue!!!!! hehe well i would look at wal-mart, or any other store that sells office supplies you can also try calling Universal they might send you another one. Mmmmmmm I know what you're talking about mine is sealed so perfect hehe but yeah try those places. If you still can't find something that looks like it I would go to hallmark which sells photo stuff or a photo place! but keep this in mind even though you might not find the exact same one try to be open minded to other sizes close to it since it's going to preserve your senitype for the future! tell me how you liked your gift set!
I hope this helped.
