All this talk makes me miss high school!
I never took AP courses, just the Honors courses, and maybe because it came to me naturally or maybe because I rushed it and still got A's and B's, but most of my homework during my 4 years of high school I always had done within an hour, two hours tops.

Well so far, since we're only a week into school, I don't have very much homework. But normally, I do have a lot. It's kinda hard to judge, because I normally don't do my homework at home, haha. I usually have study halls, so I do it during them. But overall, it's probably like an hour each night.
Basically, too much.

Well, IMO yes. We spend 7 hours at school, half of the time learning things we'll never use again in life. Then we have to come home from school, where we should be able to relax, but then we have to do homework.
Now I konw other people have more than an hour a night, but I just think homework in general is a bad idea.

Wow, Alan you're one smart cookie.
Impressive math score too. (You don't want to know my SAT scores--on the old version).
I'm not in high school anymore--been out for over three years so I'm a senior in college but at the moment you guys have more than I do.
At the moment anyway.

Which part of it? I'm not laughing at it, but I think the only "fun" I can see in homework is learning something new that actually grabs my attention.Alan wrote:But homework is fun!!!Eatmorchiken wrote:Well, IMO yes. I do extra problems in my Advanced Mathematics: Precalculus with Discrete Mathematics and Data Analysis Textbook all the time. Not only am I more confident with the material, some of the problems are just interesting! Math is my favorite subject.MickeyMousePal wrote:Alan Wrote:

Hi
Hello Eatmorchiken,
If you think that an hour of homework is hard, you must be kidding.
That is nothing I used to do 7 + hours of homework every night.
Just wait till you get later into the year, when the homework really starts piling on, you'll wish that you only had to do a hour of homework everynight again.

Also Alan.
I agree with you Math is very fun. Also my favorite subject. Has been since I was in elementary, always will be probablly.

Homework isn't fun!
I think homework is pretty pointless. I mean, sometimes I hear the argument that it disciplines us and gets us ready for the work world, but does it really? The point of work is to do the work AT work...not at home!
Duh. I don't mind classwork at all! I prefer doing worksheets and what not when I'm in school. That way I know I'll get it done.
Homework is stupid. It also takes up too much time..for some people, at least. I shouldn't have to spend the majority of my day thinking about school. I should still get some freedom while I'm young.

Now that´s really weird!
Just in the case your homework like you because you really like the career or the class you have, Bambi can´t be compared to doing your homework
Is not stupid neither, because it let us understand better and practice what we have learned, but it really steal a lot of our time

I personally think I have a lot of homework. The following is due by Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the assignment:
ALGEBRA
None yet, but my class really deserves it. They talk all through class.
SPANISH:
Write out simple math problems in Spanish, fill out worksheet with basic words and phrases using a paper passed out in class with all the answers
ENGLISH
Read "Tell Me How Long the Train's Been Gone" and do like 30 questions
Fill in the blanks of an "I Am" poem. It sounds easy, but the things I have to fill out are actually somewhat hard.
SCIENCE
Write an essay about a peanut experiment.
LITERARY ARTS (Not a common high school class)
Write a newspaper article about earthquakes
When teachers are assigning homework, it feels like a lot but I'm sure all this is as funny as Alan's comment on how "fun" homework is.
