I mean, on one hand "Toy Story 2" was an exceptional sequel. I actually liked it more than the first.

But on the other hand, it could be yet another attempt to market off of a successful original and sequel.

I'm on the fence on this one, I just hope it is good.
All sequels are made mostly for money. It's rare to find a sequal as good as the original. I hope Toy Story 3 good. What if it's like Batman or the Godfather? Those started out great...then it flopped by the 3rd sequel.

If Disney can bring back Tim Allen and Tom Hanks, get an amazing story, decent animation and can put the same creativity and hard work into it then im sure they can do it. If they cant even bring back Tim Allen and Tom Hanks then stop it right there. Buzz and Woody just would not be the same without them....

But lets wait and see. :)

I'm going to remain optimistic about this.. But as Andy and others noted, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are a must or it's a bust.

Toy Story 3 and 4?! Plus 10th Anniversary Edition....

Post by MadonnasManOne »

This article is taken from IGN.com. I am pasting the part mentioning Toy Story 3 and 4. Click the link, below that, to read the entire article, which gives IGN's opinion of the new 10th Annivesary Edition of Toy Story.

September 2, 2005 - Never one to be especially subtle when it comes to mass-marketing (then re-mass marketing) their successes and finally releasing bastardized, inferior straight-to-video sequels, it comes as little surprise that Disney is unveiling yet another Toy Story DVD edition. To be fair, Disney is legitimately able to push the 10th anniversary angle on the release; but then again, to be unfair, Disney has shamelessly taken the original release out of print for the past few years, and may be using this exclusively to gauge consumer interest in their supposed Pixar-free Toy Story 3 and 4 releases (eeek!).

The entire article can be read, here:

http://dvd.ign.com/articles/647/647603p1.html

I have heard that Disney is working on Toy Story 3, but I had no idea that they were already planning Toy Story 4?! Any confirmation of this?

Toy Story 3 and 4 without Pixar scares me. :(

I'm glad 1 and 2 are being re-released. I missed out on them before.

Could not agree more with you on everything. And as for the whole Pixar thing I am still hoping they can come to some form of agreeement. the Toys must be saved!

In my opinion more than 2 sequels is too much! But is only my opinion... They would know what to do!

I wonder if Disney is trying to make "Toy Story" a "Land before time"-like saga or something

I don't mind, really, if they make more sequels, just as long as they are as fresh, and downright good, as the first two. The problem is, I really think they should have Pixar involved in any sequel that was originally created by Pixar.

Let's hope that Disney and Pixar do come to some agreement. I think it would benefit both companies, as well as the fans!

Actually Toy Story 2 can be argued as Disney's best sequel. However, I agree with others that Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 could be very scary without Pixar.

To say a quote from every Star Wars movie: "I have a bad feeling about this"

Without Pixar I fear that Toy Storys 3 & 4 will be quite lame. Pixar always says that their stories come first!... and it really shows in their movies.

I can't wait until Toy Story 10th anniversary gets here though! I own the Toy Story 2 Pack which is cool... buuut the features etc. are lame.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Toy Story 2 it's pretty good but as long as Toy Story isn't a disney classic, I would say that in my opinion the best sequel is the Rescuers Down Under!

Though Toy Story isn't exactly a "Disney classic", I actually think its sequel was better than The Rescuers Down Under, but that's just my opinion.
