Rock-a-Doodle on DVD

Post by orestes. »

I'm not too sure how many fans of this movie there are out there but I'm one of them. It's not my favourite by far but growing up I loved this movie. It's coming to DVD.... :)

I do THINK I liked this as a child but I'm not sure... btw the MGM/Sony Disc is the 2nd DVD for the film, and the last one had nicer cover art.

I haven't been able to find the original anywhere so I'll end up getting this one probably.

I was able to find the original DVD of The Secret of the NIMH the other day with the much better artwork but it was almost three times as much to buy!

To quote Kenny Harris, owner of the Dog Cinema in Royston Vasey in The League Of Gentlemen
'Rock-a-f**king-Doodle.' I went apeshit. "Dougal." I said, "how do you explain it?" "Kenny," he says, "the boy turns into a cat called Edgar", as if that makes everything alright. I screamed at him - "Dougal Siepp, that movie's about a f**king chicken that sings. You know what's behind this venture. Dogs. Now, clear your desk, take your Garfield from the window and get out of my sight." Audiences were down forty percent. But we clawed our way back. I've had an article about me in the Winnipeg Post, Canada, Oshi, think about that. And it wasn't 'cos we were showing films about chickens!
That's all I know about Rock-A-Doodle. :D
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I used to like this movie when I was younger - I really don't know how I'll like it now. I'm hoping the film will include an anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio (subtitles would be nice too) - the original one was full screen with Dolby 2.0 audio.

Rock-a-Doodle is one of the better releases. I have had my copy since the first time it was put out on DVD in that lame old 'snapper' case. If they improve the case to a 'keep' case, that will be enough for me to 'double-dip' and buy this one. Snapper cases are the ruin of all.

I love "Rock-a-Doodle" and watch it with my grandkids whenever I can.

Did the first movie include a widescreen transfer and subtitles?

According to the case it has Spanish and French language tracks. No it is not widescreen, but I don't think that it was released in 1.85:1 in the theaters, was it? This one is full screen.
