Well, I don't really have much of a Disney story seeing as when I was little I never watched Disney Channel - - Only Nick Jr and I have never seen a Disney animated movie in the theaters except the live action re-make Freaky Friday. However, I think my first Disney movie was Pinocchio (sp?) We had it on VHS and we would watch it a lot. Also I watched James & the Giant Peatch frequently as a kid. The first Disney animated program I ever saw was Ducktales or Hercules. I watched many disney cartoons on One Too and the last season of Disney Afternoon I think. However, I vaguely remember it. Anyway, my Disney story has yet to start really! lol
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!

Hi! My name is Natasha. I'm a 13 year old female from California. One of my many nicknames is Tashie which comes my real name, Natasha which explains my Username(I gotta stop using run-on senatnces.).

I didn't exaclty grew up with the Disney renassancie(sp?). The Little Mermaid came out a couple years before I was born and so did the video realease. Luckly, I was able to see it when it came out in 97. Sadly, We didn't buy the tape that time because, well, I'm not entirely sure but it may had to with the fact that my aunt didnt' like it that much. She mainly hates Ariel. I didn't see it till last christmas when I told my mom that I wanted it badly, and I got it! I love Usula alot! She's my favorite Disney villian.

I was alive when Beauty and Beast came out but barely. I was born only about two months before it came out. We did buy the tape however. It became one of my favorite Disney flims. However, the tape vanished and I never heard fromit again until my mom got it for me when I eleven when I was feeling sick one day. I didn't really want it because I was going though that infamous " I'm too cool for Disney" faze. It wasn't till later that I watch it and realized that I loved it! My mom and aunt both love this movie as well, epscalliy my mom. She loves Belle because she says I look alot like her. I also think one of the main reasons she likes BATB so much is because it came out in 91 which is the same year I was born.

Aladdin came out about a year after I was born but really, Do you take a one year old to the theater? I did have it on tape however and it was one of my favorite movies as a kid but unfortunelty, that stupid faze kicked in and though this movie was dumb. It wasn't till later my best friend told me that she really wanted to see it. I told I had it on video and since I was showing some intrest in Disney, I told her I'd watch it with her. So on a wensday( we got out early on wensdays) we watched it and we were both laughing all the way though. Nethier my mom or aunt really care for it but it's my best friends favorite Disney flim. It's also one of mine favorites as well.

The Lion King is special to my heart because not only was it the first Disney movie I ever saw in theaters, It was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. I was obsess with it when I was little, mainly Nala. Really because both our names began with N. Earlier this month, I went to Disneyland and DCA. In DCA, There was a small building about Disney animation. Inside there was this quiz hosted by Lumerie from BATB. The quiz was supposed to tell you which Disney character you were most like and I got Nala! I was pretty happy with my answer but my friend said she got the wicked queen from Snow White. I became intastly jealous. I love the wicked queen. Her and Ursula are the greatest. Anyway, When I was in Sitxh grade, We got the platnuim edition of TLK. I have a reveiw of it but it's only one sentance: Awsome movie but bad features.

Okay, On to moving on to my real Disney story. I loved Disney when I was a kid. I had tons of tapes and fequently visited Disneyland. But like any kid growing up, I soon thought "Hey I'm way too cool for Disney. Disney is for babies!". Looking back now, I think " My god, I was idiot". I thought not only was I too cool for Disney, I thought I was too cool for any cartoon that wasn't for adults. So I watched shows that any nine year old shoudn't be watching but I didn't care because I thought I was awsome. Yeah right. Whatever  . It wasn't till my grandma died of lung cancer when I was 12, I started to get really depressed. To make me feel better, my mom took me to Disneyland. All of the sudden, I was happy again. I didn't matter anymore that my only grandma, the one I loved to death was dead. What matter was that I was in Disneyland and even though I never been particularly anywhere in my life, I was 100 percent sure that no other place in the world maybe not even in the universe, could make me as happy as Disneyland did. However great vactions always come to an end and before I knew it, I was heading back to Oakland California. I was even sadder than before but thanks to that one special trip, it renwed my faith in Disney.

But my story gets sadder. I was going into the seventh grade. I became obsess with Disneyland. So much that I stop concentrating on my work. Then I starting failing in every class. I was doing so poorly, That I coudn't go on the Ski trip due to my grades. And I really wanted to go. I was really depressed but at the last minute, I got my acy together and passed
7th grade with a GPA of 3.17!

I don't blame Disney for what happened. In fact, I am actually happy about what happen, It opened up a new world for me. I like most of the old classics. My two favorite movies from that era are Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio. I think AIW is very underated. It's a great movie. Sure it's nothing like the original book but even for some who has a little bit of English heritge and is somewhat of anglophile, I understand why Walt changed the story. If a movie is too much like the bok, it would be boring
but if the movie has a mind of it's own, that's makes it better. I think no one would agree with me though. The reason I like Pinocchio so much because of two reasons. One: I love the "I got no stings" scene. Two: Alot of people bash this movie because it's too dark and disturbing. I actually think it's perfect the way it is. I mean can you really imagine it beaing sugar coded? C'mon. It's about a puppet about becomming a real boy. Of corse there's going to be some dark stuff in there. It proves that Disney isn't all happy and fun like most people think. I mainly like it because it isn't your average Disney movie. But then again, I'm that kind of person that really is in to that stuff (Not vionlence just really disturbing detail)

I'm kinda in rush to write this. I'll post more about me later. I'm really glad to be part of UD and I hope you all like me!

Welcome, Jamminjake and TashieGirl!!

Jamminjake, it's kind of cool how your story is just beginning! I noticed you have a Gummi Bear in your avatar. You never mentioned Gummi Bears in your post so can you tell me about you and Gummi Bears?

TashieGirl, it's sad how your grandmother died, but what's pretty nice is that when you went to Disneyland that helped you get over your depression. That's more proof that Disneyland really is the happiest place on Earth! Many people went through the "Disney is kid's stuff" phase. I'm glad you came out of it, and realize that Disney can be rather adult-like in it's portrayal of human emotions and even disturbing moments.

Well, the first Disney movie I saw, I don't really remember which one was...
But I do remember the first movie that I saw in a theater, it was the Little Mermaid!

By that time my father bought me all Disney VHS tape available in the moment, I'm talking about Sleeping Beauty, Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland and Lady and the tramp!

Later I got my Little Mermaid VHS tape, and then come out to cinema Rescuers Down Under! New VHS tapes were avaiable, Fantasia, The Great Mouse Detective....

After that, Beauty and the Beast: I saw it in a theater in it's original version with Portuguese subtitles, by that time I couldn't read, so I did get the most of the story - but I enjoyed anyway...

Aladdin was released next year and I went to theaters again, it was an amazing movie!

By that time I already got more tapes: Cinderella, Snow White, Peter Pan, Rescuers Down Under and Beauty and the Beast.

In Lion King, I did't saw it in cinema, but I got the tape in the release day.
Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules I only got their tapes and also didn't saw in theaters.

The Last Disney Movie I saw in a theater was Mulan, and the last VHS tape I bought was Tarzan, after that, I only bougth DVD's.

They took us to a magical journey under the sea, they show us how a beautiful girl can look into a heart of a beast, they even made us fly on a magic carpet...
Someday the magic will return!

I feel that since I have now passed the 5 post mark and become a member I should introduce myself here.

I'm Warren, I'm from Palmer Massachusetts. You probably haven't heard of it but I'm pretty positive some one from the town is going to do some thing important within the next 10 years, so maybe then you'll hear about it.
I'm a community college graduate, not currently back in school, but some day since an associates doesn't get you much.
I always dug Disney movies since I was younger but recently got back into them fairly heavily because of my job. I work in a video rental store which does not too much in business, thus I often have time to watch movies. Watched a bunch of Disney movies, remembered how much I like them, starting buying them, was looking for info on more online, came across Ultimate Disney and now here I am. What fun.
Anyhoo, thats me briefly, if, for any reason you care to learn more you can ask me, but I'm not terrible interesting.
Bye.

Hello everyone, my name is Leoni and I'm from the Netherlands, to be exact.

My affection for Disney movies started when I was just a little girl. My mother bought me some movies to keep me quiet whe she was cooking and stuff. I ended up watching the tapes all the time and I started collecting them. At the age of 15, I had all the Disney Classic movies untill that time on VHS.

Nowadays I'm still busy collecting the movies since I want them all on DVD also. Besides that, I also love to visit Disneyland Resort Paris and I hope to visit the other Disney themeparks shortly.

If you want to know more about me (I can't imagine why, I'm not that interesting ;)), you can ask me anytime! :)

Sadly, by the time I was old enough to go to the movies Disney's quality in movies was over. The Lion King was over, Toy Story was "old news", Perhaps Mulan was about my time and I never saw it.:( I have yet to see a Disney Movie, but I am a new DVD collector.
