I havent seen the snow white PE but i think Aladdin had the best DVD composition. Beauty and the Beast would be next, but it had a very "JPEG looking" picture because it had three movies on one disc. The features were also a little hard to find...i watched the "play all" on the lumiere/cogsworth menu and didnt think there would be a separate menu for each part (story, origins, character etc.) so i didnt discover the galleries and stuff for a few days after because i thought that by clicking the titles on that menu, i'd just end up watching the same thing i already saw.
aladdin's bonus features were well layed-out. you could watch the featurette but there was also very clear titles for other parts not in the featurette.

Out of the ones I have, I'd say Aladdin is the best PE. It has great video/audio, games that I actually found intertaining, a feature on Alan Menkin, and a very in-depth making-of. The commentaries were fun to listen to, and the publicity section is always fun.
Bambi comes in a close second. The "Inside Walt's Meetings" segment was just as good as a commentary, if not better. The making-of and the TV show segments were entertaining and informative, and I'm always amazed with how much stuff can be restored from movies that are over half a century old.
The Lion King comes in dead last, and I'm sure you all know why. It was just a poor release for a movie that is considered one of Disney's greatest.
I've yet to watch Snow White's or B&tB's PEs, but I'm looking forward to it.

Honestly, I think The Lion King had the least/worst bonus featues. Most are only a minute and there are only like 45 so 45 minutes..
However, most bonus features were spread over three releases so when you think about it it would be a lot.
Its weird there has not been a single Disney Platinum Edition that does not have a follow up movie, except Snow White for obvious reasons.

The best is hard to pin down, but I'll say Aladdin. I was tempted to vote for Snow White, but as that's long out of print, it is somewhat hard to recommend.
I must say that the Platinums aren't the only good sets, though. The regular special/collector editions (Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, Pocahontas etc) are just as good, if not better!

No, but Atlantis: The Lost Empire is the best Disney 2 disc ever!* And Lilo and Stich is a close second when it comes to best documentary.
Personally, I don't see any evidence that Platinum Editions have had more care spent on them over most other 2 disc releases. To me, it seems that the Platinum Editions just have more marketing money thrown at them.

I've got three platinum editions (the renaissance movies), and have rented the rest at one point or another, and I can safely say "Aladdin" is easily the best by at least 400% in all departments. Why? Well, look.
"Snow White" does offer some interesting features, but the features on the discs for older films often seen like (with apologies to John Canemaker, who's a great guy) a bunch of old guys talking about Walt. The restoration left a little to be desired as well.
"Beauty and the Beast" is an excellent film (possibly my favorite Disney film), and its restoration and three-version disc do not disappoint, as does the commentary. However, the features feel more than a little art-oriented and not enough time is given to the terriffic voice cast or the music. Also, the set-top games (and the West Wing, as well) are EXTREMELY disappointing.
"Bambi" is not half bad, with an excellent restoration. However, I hold a grudge against this film, as I've hated it since I was four years old. Also, the features are only so-so. (Read my "Snow White" comments.)
"The Lion King" has possibly the best restoration and 5.1 tracks yet, and a few of its features are alright. On the bad side, the menus are very confusing (I once memorably stated on a now-dead DVD review site that "they couldn't have made a more confusing menu design if they hired a team of 300 professional map-makers on drugs"). The commentary is merely ported over from the LD release, and most of the features (especially the torrid "Animals" section, which makes me ask "How did they get Roy into doing this?") are bad. LK is probably the worst platinum release yet.
"Aladdin", on the other hand, has a VERY good restoration, with no flaws that I could see. The two commentary tracks are the best yet, especially the unintentionally funny Andreas Deja in the animators' commentary. The virtual magic carpet ride features the best CG work to come out of Disney to date and a beautiful 5.1 track; the Genie's Lamp tour is hilarious from start to finish; the 3 Wishes game isn't bad at all and the Genie's Postcards thing is quite humorous. The making-of is the single best DVD feature I've seen yet (second is the Amadeus making-of), as it is long, informative, funny, and very well-rounded, going into places nearly no disc has gone before. The Alan Menken featurette is amazing, and the art gallery and trailers do not disappoint. Congratulations, Disney.

I have Aladdin PE, but I haven't watched any of the bonus features yet. I just think that the Bambi release was THE best.
I hate on the upcoming Cinderalla Platinum DVD that there will be stupid ESPN stuff.

I would have to say Aladdin is the best. It contains really good special features, I loved the Alan Menkin feature, I loved "diamond in the rough" (or whatever its called) feature and the backstage stuff. The audio is superb, and video is really good. Its kind of sad that even though this DVD sold well, the DVD didn't sell as much as people had expected.
The snow white DVD and the beauty and the beast dvd, I have not received yet. I'll add my comments on them.
The Bambi DVD was alright, the "Making of Bambi" was really good. I didn't really enjoy the movie, but the restoration was pretty good.

The audio and visual aspects of the film were quite stunning. The menu was quite stupid, and the virtual safari was quite stupid as well. There wasn't really one long documentary, just several tiny featurettes about stuff like Warthogs and lions and also some stuff about the musical (have no clue why they included the musical)

I personally found the safari game fun. I loved pretending like I was on the safari and the jokes made by the loveable Timon and Pumbaa were hilarious!
Definatly the best set-top game on any DVD.
Also there were SOME featurettes about the movie. Not a whole lot, but a few, a little more than just the animal ones.
Overall while I did think there were a few good parts about The Lion King DVD, I do admit it still is weak in alot of places and may get the title for the worst 2-Disc edition DVD ever(with the exception of cheapquels).
Here in Portugal, the Platinum releases are a little bit diferent, so I will do my list based on that:
1 - Aladdin (great extras, specially the interview with the makers of the movie)
2 - Bambi (the extras are really good)
3 - Lion King (a little bit disapointing but still good)
4 - Beauty and the Beast (Only one disc here in Portugal - missing a great part of extras...)
5 - Snow White (Only one disc also - really a shame)
