Anyone else like to make Lists?
Maybe because it's part of my minute bit of OCD, but I love making lists. Just seeing things all organized in a list or a spreadsheet or a chart, it's just so much fun! It's like putting a big puzzle in order.
I used to have this huge-ass tape collection. Well, I still do, but they're all in boxes. And all the tapes were stuff I taped of TV, from about 1994 or so to January 2005 (when I went to WDW and didn't bring my VCR). And probably only half were labeled, so I'd spend the summer of 2003 and the summer of 2004 going through all of them and listing what was on it, the run-times, etc. Anyways, that was probably my master list that I kept, and it ran for about 70 pages, and unfortunately, the list still isn't done.
My best friend Jax and I also had a six page (both sides) list of all the inside jokes we had in high school. Even the littlest things like "WRONG SIDE, WRONG SIDE!" and "Hi, I'm (Kram) and I'm Catholic!" were on it. I still have to re-type the whole thing on the computer and e-mail it to her.
And I think my favorite list of all is one I got from a Friends episode. Five Celebrities you'd sleep with. Ross originally put Isabella Rossellini, but replaced her because she was too "international", and put Winona Ryder on the list since she was local.
1. Kristin Kreuk
2. Alexis Bledel
3. Amber Tamblyn
4. Vanessa Marcil
5. Belle (yes, from Beauty and the Beast, though there was a Southern girl I know at MK that I called the Southern Belle so she counts as Belle.)
Anyone else have any crazy lists they make?

Holy crap, I was thinking of this when Lazario made his chapter listing obsession thread. I have this weird urge to make lists all of the time, and then immediately get rid of them afterwards and move on to something else. This is partially why I post BBFC specs a lot, or any other specs I stumble across that no one else has posted, yet. I got so bored one day that I made a list of all the films I could remember seeing in a theater in chronological order (with the help of IMDb). Unlike my other lists, I actually saved that one since it took me WAY too long to make. My favorite lists are upcoming movies I want to see and upcoming DVDs I want to buy. I guess everyone has at least one kind of OCD-like tendency, and for me, it's list making. It's the first thing I do when I have nothing else to do. I actually tend to use these boards as a template for random lists. I'd click on the "post reply" or "new topic" button, make a list of anything in the post box, admire it a bit, then get rid of the page. Yes, I'm odd like that.

LOL, that's where I got the idea. It's like an obsession, isn't it? There's just something so satisfying about seeing a group of ideas/things in one understandable order. I just remembered a couple more lists I'd make:
What started out as a way to fight boredom at a party became a regular thing for me when I started my "Things I could be doing right now" list series. We were at some winter party for my mom's work, and it was me, Kram, Jane, my aunt, and our cousin. The five of us were so frickin' bored that I took out my little notepad and put "Things I could be doing right now", and it just grew from there. We came up with things far more interesting than the boring party, and I think it grew to about 140ish things before we stopped (because thankfully the party was over). Needless to say, anytime we were ever bored again, we'd pull out some paper and start the list. But we always make sure that the first three are the same:
1. Sleep
2. Rob a bank
3. Take over the world
Before, I'd just buy a DVD, and stick it on the shelf in order that I bought it. But soon it became too hard to find a DVD, so I decided to arrange them chronologically, then separated by studio (and chrono from there). But then I had so many DVDs that I started to wonder when I bought each of them, so I opened each of them and checked the receipt (I keep the receipt with the case for some odd reason) and see when I bought it, and I kept a whole list of that from Charade/The Lucy Show to Cocoon The Return. Those I consider my pre-WDW DVDs, and now there's a list of WDW DVDs, or DVDs I bought while in Florida, and it starts with Peyton Place/The Thorn Birds and ends with Robin Hood.
Back in high school, I'd write "soap operas", which were simply a list of about 30 or so characters and about 50 or so situations that were soap operatic. I'd make lists of the rich people, the poor people, the regular people, the villain, the vixens, etc. I'd make lists of things like "Places in the town" or "Possible names of the soap". But I think one of the most extreme list I made was when I tried to write a more detailed soap about my own life, so I made a list of everyone I knew, and separated them based on who I could make into a character, and who I could take parts of to make into a character. I think I also had a master list of every soap and character I created in my 60+ soaps (out of the 60+, probably only 5 or so could actually be considered a "soap opera" since I wrote pages upon pages of background information, character information, and rundowns and outlines of stories for the first five or so years, along with the first five episodes written out in script form). Since this is a topic about lists, here are the few real "soaps" I've written (you know, the whole shebang of scripts, backstories, etc.) :
1. Haven (I worked on this for two frickin years before I stopped cold turkey on all of them)
2. Life and Everything Else
3. Hale Harbor
4. Hope Springs Eternal (probably my favorite of all of them)
5. High Profiles

I make lists too!
Well, only because I'm weird.
I also have a daily to do list, because I usually forget things. (no, that's not true. Whenever I'm at the mall, I always forget I have other things to do..)
So I need a reminder.
For example, today's list looked like this:
- Go to Target for packaging
- Go to Costco for DVDs to trade
- Get gas @ Costco too
- Lunch @ 12
- Make List of DVDs to buy tomorrow...
- Work @ 4.
*something like that.
And I make a list of DVDs to buy.
AND before every girls night out, I have to make a list of what outfit goes with what, what earrings, belt? (maybe), the bad and shoes.
I'm a very organized person, and I rely on my lists.
Otherwise, I'd be very lost.

Hey, Escapay, did your soap opera stars sleep with each other and in the end realize they were related or that they should be rivals instead of lovers? (haha, I'm thinking Passions)

Not really, no, lol. I tried to stay away from incest in my soaps, that topic was way too creepy for me to write about. But I did have a really well-written story for Haven in which a teenage girl is drugged and raped at a party and since she's anti-abortion, she has to choose between an abortion or to keep the baby. And if she kept the baby, she had to choose between raising the child herself or putting the child up for adoption.RJKD23 wrote: ---------

My earliest soapy stories were simply copies of things happening on Days of our Lives and Passions, back in 1999 and 2000. Needless to say, I don't bother reading the train wreck I called Soap Operas 1 and 2.

Lists! Oh my goodness! Once a year I used to ALWAYS ALWAYS make a list! In the early years it was just a list of toys I wanted Santa Claus to make for me to give to me because that's his job. Then as I grew up it became a list of toys and stuff I wanted for Christmas complete with average going price and sublists for possible stores in which to purchase the item. Other than that, it was just "List of things to do before going on vacation" list.
Escapay, you liar! Life and Everything Else was a sitcom! I should know! I helped write episodes!
Escapay that list in your first post does not belong on family friendly Disney message board! (this is where the frowning horned face goes, but the satanic emoticon frightens me hence why it has never been in any of my posts and will not ever be in any of my posts)

Yes, I love doing lists! When I visited Disney World I made sure to make a list of rides I'll ride, and how long they'll take, to plan the day out. Obviously this was scrapped the moment we arrived!
I also make lists of upcoming DVDs and movies I want, and things to do during the month (especially now when I sometimes get bored of the summer vacation).

Absolutely, I too love making lists. In fact, my DVD chapter listing obsession continues beyond digesting the chapters that are already laid out by companies. I actually watch movies and TV shows with my VCR / DVD time counter on and write down the time markers of where I would cut each chapter. In essence, I make my own DVD chapters list. I have stacks of papers in my room of movies I've done this on.
But yeah, I also have a few other lists I'm very crazy about. I'll make a list out of those:
1. My DVD Wishlist (I take more pride in it than my actual DVD collection!)
2. My favorite / best Disney animated movies list
3. Songs for future compilation CDs
4. Favorite Candy / Junk food
5. Best Horror Movies
Escapay mentioned celebrities he'd sleep with, here are 5 celebrities I'd never sleep with (in no special order):
1. Brad Pitt
2. Leonardo DiCaprio
3. Mel Gibson
4. Tom Cruise
5. Russell Crowe

I love writing a list of DVDs I want even if the movies aren't out in theatres yet. Then write the prices, cut the list up by titles (for organizing), then rewrite in seperate list types:
-Release Dates
-Cost
-Alphabetical
-Most Wanted
I just love sitting on the floor of my room on weekends and writing DVD lists of titles that I want. The funny thing is, it's relaxing.

I always like the "What DVDS do you like?" or "What TV on DVD do you have?" threads because it means I get to write another list!
Here is a list of some of my lists currently on my computer:

Here is a list of some of my lists currently on my computer:
- Anime CDs (and MP3s)
- Anime DVDs w/ Limited Edition items

- CineClub movies (a list of the movies I have seen and reviewed for the CineClubs at www.film-talk.com )
- Classic comedians on DVD
- Dreamcast Games

I have 18 lists just in my Movies & DVDs folder... I won't list them all: - Criterion DVDs I have and want

- Movies I have seen

I have several lists in my Books folder, as well. - Books I have Read - from 2002 thru 2005

I like and hate lists. I make them from time to time but I end up abandoning them (well usually).
A few list I have are...
Comic books/ Tpb Wishlist
DVD Wishlist
Countries I want to travel to (which has the subcategories of towns/cities I want to see as well as locations)
DVDs I own
TV Shows I watch (usually in a long list or schedule form)
Novel/ Book Wishlist
CD/Music Wishlist
Hottest Female Celebrities (seperate one for movies and TV)
My Story Index
Movie/TV Show Tops Lists (Usually have trouble with these and that's why I hate lists)
Speaking of soap operas, I write my own too although I barely work on them anymore. I wouldgo into them as extensively as you Escapay. I used to work on them before I would watch soaps. When I was younger I liked the idea of soap operas rather than watching them.
My three main ones were:
1. Evermore - A fantasy soap opera that took place in a palace city state.
2. Port Hope - A vampire/ supernatural soap opera I modelled after Port Charles. :-p
3. Untitled (usually called Urban/Rural) - It was a two part soap with the first part taking place in the city and the second in a small town. It was more like two seperate ones that would cross over all the time. It was mostly similar to Canadian soaps which are rare. (they are not as far out as American ones but not as gritty as British ones)

I dont' make an obscene amount of lists; just mainly of things I collect. Right now, I have want/have lists for:
1. Books (subdivided by genre, further alphabatized by author's surname and book title)
2. Audio CDs (again by genre, band/author/composer and then album title)
3. Computer hardware & applications
4. Digimon CCG (Japanese version; organized by Starter/Booster #, and further by card #)
5. DVDs (not quite by studio; only Criterion, Disney & Kino have their own sections, along with Television season sets)
6. Overpower CCG (you'd need to understand the game to understand how I sort it).
7. Video Games (PC, Gameboy/GBC/GBA, DS, N64, Gamecube, PS1/2)
