Peter Pan DVD

Post by yoda_four »

Hey all,

Just like my other post, do you think I should get a copy of the SE of Peter Pan off Ebay or wait for the PE? Was it a good transfer? Any good bonus material?

Thanks in advance

Peter Pan DVD Review

If you're going to ask wether a DVD is worth buying, please check to see if it has been reviewed here or not. We have a substantial review section for referance, with new reviews being added continually, and several people have put a lot of hard work into writing them. So make use of them. :)

. . . And, if you still need to ask advice on DVDs from forum members, you can do it in this specially created thread, just for that purpose.

I say go for the SE right now! The platinum might not come out till 2010 or even longer you have no idea when the next one will come out. So get it while you can!

Yeah, I would recommend it too, since we don't really know when the Platinum Edition will be released (If it ever gets released with Disney changing labels and proyects all the time, ) The DVD was decent, the quality was good and the extras were fine, besides, this way you won't have to read any boring reviews like the Peter Pan one  (Just kidding)

 Touche! I did read that review on UltimateDisney but didn't find it too useful. I like IGNs Reviews but they only do the odd Disney.

Hey Yoda - welcome to the forum.

Just thought I'd let you know we have a running thread about DVD Advice, so that you don't have to post a new thread everytime you are wondering about whether to get a new DVD.

We have a lot of hardcore fans here, witha wealth of knowledge, and it is sometimes possible that someone else has asked/answered the same question here:

http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... php?t=2864

If not, your question in this thread might someone else too!

Take care...

Oh, and for the record, I really like the current Peter Pan DVD. However, there are a great number of foreign Peter Pan DVDs (e.g. the French) that have even more supplements, so chances are we will see a better edition down the tracks somewhere...

Hope this helps....

That's cool...just trying to nudge you in the right direction :)

Cool nickname, by the way!

Hope you stick around for a while longer. The site can be insane at times (Off Topic looks like a candy-coloured warzone at the moment), but for the most part we have a good knowledge-base here, and are pretty fun.

Cheers!

Hey yoda_four, I'm formerly a Star Wars fan too! SW just isn't special any more, is it? Still love the classic Trilogy, though. I reckon Sleeping Beauty - which you talked about in another thread - influenced Star Wars. Maleficent's palace Guards look a bit like Gammorean Guards to me, and she reminds me of the Emperor. I got into disney through Pixar's films.

regarding Peter Pan, or anything, I'd advise you NEVER to wait for anything Disney...I'm a newbie too, but I've done some feverish collecting in the last few months...it's just too dangerous to put it off, you don't know when you might have to wait ten years for it!

I'm only missing Snow White and Dumbo now, and I know I'll have to wait until 2008 for a brand new factory sealed Snow White with change from a hundred and fifty quid.

And hey, when I joined nobody told me that I had a cool name - sniff - :( [/i]
Just release every Disney full-length toon on DVD - now, damn you!

Hey tooniac,

Why not just buy Snow White off ebay or something, why wait fro 200-whenever? BTW - Cool idea, that SB influenced SW. I can see the comparaisons.

Well, it comes out March 2009. So, we'll have to wait a few more years before anything else is is revealed, I'm afraid.
