YIPPPY! I liked PII! It was one of the better sequels! Not as good as the original but it was good! I like the songs in the movie! This movie should have gotten a soundtrack! :)

Why isn't this listed in the upcoming DVDs though?

Because it hasn't "officially" been confirmed by Disney, yet, but reliable sources have said that it'll be released in the summer time.

Actually, there was a soundtrack (I saw it advertised) but it was very rare and extremely hard to find (believe me-I looked!)

COOL! I think they even had The Lady And The Tramp II soundtrack as well! I found some songs on Kazaa but not the ones that I want! If anyone comes across these both I would love to buy them! :)

Pocahontas II should die. It totally destroyed the original movie's story. Plus, Pocahontas looked nasty in the sequel.

Not really. It is true that the real Pocahontas went to England after her encounter with Smith. I see it as a genuine continuation.

And some people like their women nasty.

The only thing that upsets me about the release of Poca II: SE is that I just bought the original version on DVD (quite cheap though).

I'm a defender of the sequels, so I'm going to disagree with you of course.

I refuse to see how a sequel - crappy or otherwise - can "ruin" or "brutalize" the original. The original is still there to enjoy (and in the case of Pocahontas, there is an alleged SE on the way too!), and Disney hasn't gone back to edit the original in any way (yet). In other words, the sequels - apart from the 2 or 3 at the end of the title - exist on their own accord, and should not impact the way you view the original.

For example, Belle's Magical World is almost universally considered the worst of the DTV "sequels". Does this actually mean that the viewer can't enjoy Beauty and the Beast now? Are the Star Wars movies lesser films because the newer ones have not been as good? Does Godfather III make the first two unwatchable? If it does, then I suggest that perhaps the viewer didn't enjoy the original as much as they think, if something as trivial as a sequel can ruin the original.

In the end, sequels :
1) Are keeping 2D animation alive
2) Take time and effort just like the originals, on a fraction of the budget
3) Are HUGE cash cows for Disney, and allow them the time and money to work on the feature films we love to watch.

I know I've had this rant before, but I think bashing sequels based on the fact that they somehow alter your view of the original is a very weak argument.

Long live the sequels.
