Anyways, I read the whole thing not realizing it was an old topic until I paid attention to the dates...
As for the clips they'd show on the episodes:
1. Henson probably paid for the broadcast rights for those clips to appear on TV, which is why Muppet Babies has been able to be syndicated up until like 5 years ago or so.
2. Since broadcast rights aren't the same as...what's it called...consumer rights, it's a different set of rules as to if a company will release those rights for DVD release. A good example is music changed on DVDs. The producers paid for the broadcast rights of the songs, which is why many remain intact in syndication. But for the DVD rights, it's different, usually more expensive, so many shows opt instead to put alternate music. Las Vegas, for example, uses its international theme song instead of the US theme song on their DVDs because it's cheaper. Also, Married With Children omitted their theme song "Love and Marriage", and replaced it with a similar sounding instrumental.
Hope that clears up the confusion about the clips. They simply have to get different rights to distribute it on DVD.
BTW, I so want Muppet Babies on DVD!

You both have listed the same amount of titles, purplebluelove in one list, jake in another list with two joined by a /. So you're both right. So there.
