A few of the fairies look like other Disney characters. The one on the bottom left has an Ariel-like face.

Call me crazy, but it doesn't look like a terrible bunch. Naturally i would prefer it if this whole territory was well and truly avoided like the plague, but if we must... Anyhoo, I'm not going to jump on the bashing wagon just yet. After all Disney is expecting these films and characters to carry an entire range, therefore that may give Disney the incentive to give everything.

Ugh. This is going to be bad. And I smell some sort of princess/fairy crossover in the future.

I don't think those other characters fit with Tinker Bell's design that well. It looks like the characters of "W.I.T.C.H." put on different clothes and stood beside of her. I mean, all the characters have clothes and wings that are detailed, whereas Tinker Bell's is very simple. It just doesn't look like they came from the same time period (which they didn't, actually). But that fairy in blue is very nicely designed. Besides, I thought Tinker Bell was a pixie?

I'm not sure, sadly I have never seen Peter Pan! lol I know that is sad, but I just haven't. Actually rumor is this will become a T.V series on The Disney Channel. Disney is expecting it to be the next big thing like Kim Possible. I heard that they will "right crime and evil" (Kinda' like the Care Bears.lol)
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!

She is a pixie (hence the whole pixiedust thing) I have to agree with Disney's Divinity they do look like the W.I.T.C.H. characters, but I have a soft spot for fairies/pixies. :tink:

First of all:

1. They didn't have to use Tink as part of this new line. They could have used her as a logo of some sorts, or to appear in merchadise as a main character but never use her as a character.

2. Why another girlie line? I mean, they already have the Princess' line plus shows like Lizzie McGuire. What do boys get? Once they started a hero line but they never actually made something with it.

...plus they can very well promote much more the Disney Villains line.

Ugh...they're not as bad as I thought they were going to look--but I hate the way they redesigned Tink.

Little girls will probably like it. To me it doesn't look appealing at all but if I had kids I'd rather them watch this than That's So Raven and The Proud Family.

Disney has come up with some unique designs. I'm liking the designs. Too bad I'm not into fairies otherwise this would be something to jump all over.

I also agree with Disney's Divinity. The new pixies/fairies are nicely designed, but don't fit with the original style of Peter Pan. It seems as though Mary Blair's style has been tossed away. Though I think they look much better as compared to what they were obviously copied off of (W.I.T.C.H. and Wynx Club). The pixies/fairies look much more natural with their nature inspired outfits, though they are much more detailed than Tink's simple dress. The one in blue reminds me of the Blue Fairy. Maybe its her young self, lol. Another thing, the logo looks great. :)

The one in dark green really does look like Peter Pan, lol. Maybe its his sister or something. Maybe they're all supposed to be inspired by other Disney characters? If you look at the picture from left to right, top row: Peter Pan/Aurora, Cinderella/Blue fairy, Mulan/Jasmine, Pocahontas/Esmerlda, and the one on the bottom is Ariel/Belle.

Pretty cute. I think this whole pixie thing will catch on w/ older young girls like 8-tween. old enough to get over the princess, but still looking for a cute catchy character.

Disney Fairies' Design

Post by Disney Duster »

Well, looking at the picture it's not as bad as I thought it would be. That one does look liek Peter Pan and it is a bit W.I.T.C.H. like. But here it's nice that they gave them ethnicities instead of them all looking caucasion. Still, I'd rather see Tinker Bell with the other fairies, just have the fairies when they were younger (like how the Blue Fairy and the Fairy Godmother were as teenagers).

Tinker Bell was redesigned...and she is a pixie, as people here reminded us! They should have made the other girl's outfits simple like hers.

Also, I had read that this line was what Disney wanted young girls to "graduate" to from the Disney Princesses. That doesn't make sense to me, as I think the Princesses who are young women are more sophisticated than wild fairy teenagers. But then again, who knows how the new fairies will turn out?

:D HEY UDers! I just discovered a Disney Fairies video! I don't know if anyone else went searching, but in the link Kin00 posted (thanks for posting, btw), there is a link the picture came from:

http://www.disneyfairies.jp/home.html

The site is in Japanese. Click on the link but don't install the Japanese characters unless you want to. When the page opens you'll see in English a choice between Windows Media Player and Real Video Player. You have a choice between 300 k or 56 k. Just click on which ever you prefer and the video plays in its own window.

Anyhow, it's definitely worth it! You see the book the series is based on, some illustrations, and the author of the book. The fairy we all thought looked like the Blue Fairy has blue hair in the video. She also seems to be a fairy that controls/creates rain/water. Also the fairy we think looks a little like Ariel (the one in pink with curly brown hair) is named Prilla. There is also an evil fairy character and a little boy fairy character. Though so you all don't get the wrong idea, the only animation is that from Peter Pan and Return to Neverland.

Also, the whole video is in Japanese, so if anyone speaks it, we would all appreciate a translation or the general idea of what the video says.
