Don't forget "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command"! That show was a piece of genius. Too bad it only lasted 62 episodes!

Yes, we do need to get Buzz Lightyear of Star Command to DVD! I thought that I was the only one! I also want 101 Dalmations-the series!
Okay, back onto topic! This article was posted at TVShowsOnDVD.com, regarding the Ducktales set. An anonymous source sent it in, and it is the list of episodes to be released in tthe set. It says that the first 27 eps are to be included, but the TV pilot episode 'Treasure of the Golden Suns' will not. This information may be wrong, they say.
Normally we would be cautious with a new source like this, but this person comes across as knowing their stuff, so we're going to go out on a bit of a limb here and pass the info along to our readers. Take it all with a grain of salt, though, just in case somebody is putting us on!

Enjoy, with caution! :)

Yes. I counted and in total there were 21 "To be Continued.." episodes of Ducktales. That could easily be on its own box set. Wait..this information has to be wrong because there are some "To be Continued.." episodes that introduced new characters, etc so they would/could not just leave that out. That information HAS to be in correct...atleast I/we hope. 27 is just an odd number to choose (9 episodes a disk) Maybe they will do the first 27 including the pilot series..atleast that would be the smart thing. I am thinking that maybe there will be 25 episodes a set that way there will be 4 box sets. The thing is then Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers will only have two sets of 50 and then 15 left for a last set. I don't know -- just doesn't make sense..

Oh joy. Even more money for me to spend :p. I can't wait for both of the sets, while I have to say I was more a fan of C&D: RR.

Remember that episode list isnt confirmed by Disney for the DVD yet, tvshowsondvd is always accurate and even they said it's not an official announcement ;)

Just cant see it happening that way. Not when it makes too perfect of sense to just do four volumes of 25 (it also means more money for them).

As for RR, just take the number and divide by three. So probably 22,21,22 on three sets. Remember the more sets they make (rather than cram) the more they can get.

With the releases of Gargoyles and Muppets under their belt now, i just can't see disney doing that much of a head scratcher.

Yeah that is what I first suspected as you can see pages ago. lol Do you think we will have to wait for a yearly release of both shows and then once complete they will move on to other shows? Jeez..at the rate we will not get all the Disney shows for another 50 years! lol

if it's bare bones, i expect two a year, maybe three. I'd expect to have Ducktales complete in 1 1/2 maybe two years.

Ah, wishful thinking. lol It will be about two years for Ducktales. Gargoyles only gets one release a year so that will most likely be the same for Ducktales, Chip and all other Disney cartoon shows.

Well I can understand where you are coming from, but in all reality if Disney is going to release the show to DVD, they will do it right. I am confident they will include the pilot and there will be 25 episodes a set, not 27.

Gargoyles was also the test show to see if it would even sell so odds are they hadnt even started production on the second set until after they felt comfortable with the sales from the first.

Now that the test has been conducted, they'd probably feel more comfortable rolling them out faster.

I agree, this information is false. Disney will do the series justice

I agree with the above statement because there would be no point at all to why they would not include the pilot.

And hopefully a five minute documentary on how TOTGS came into being and how it evolved into one of Disney's most popular animated series.

(And a short piece on Mark Mueller and Micheal/Patty Silversher wouldn't go unnoticed as well...)

Well, they can put the 2-hour specials on separate discs and make even more money :) Which wouldn't be so bad - I've always wanted to see those epiosodes in their original form.
I just hope they won't try to merge "The firefly fruit contest" miniseries into a movie...
