Maybe in a future Assorted Treasure set yes, but certainly not in a Silly Symphony one, since this cartoon is not a Silly Symphony-cartoon.

It's just one of Disney's miscellaneous "one-off" shorts, like Ferdinand the Bull. A self-contained short with a complete narrative that's not part of a continuing series, like the Silly Symphonies or, say, Goofy. If they threw these shorts together with other less-common character shorts like Chip n' Dale or Figaro, that'd be a nice DVD! ^_^

Btw, I rented Melody Time last night solely to watch the extra shorts on the disc. I'd never seen Lambert before, and it was really cute! It was fun to see the very same stork from Dumbo there - I think it's kinda neat when Disney kept a continuity with their canon. ;) The long, wide mouths on the sheep were a tad disturbing, though. O_o

Me and my brother would watch Lambert all the time when we were kids. My brother used to be scared of when Lambert transforms and I would always torment him in the middle of the night saying Lambert was hiding in the closet

Is Ferdinand the Bull on any DVDs currently? I'd almost forgotten it until this discussion.

Lambert, the Sheepish Lion

Post by Lazario »

What happens in that short? I can remember the song and what the sheep and the lion look like. But I can't remember for the life of me what the heck happens in that cartoon. Anyone here remember what happens?

I've only seen it once (at WDW), and I loved it. From what I remember, the lion is misdelivered to a family of sheep by the stork. He grows up thinking he's a sheep, much to the consternation of the flock. There's a lot of love between he and his sheep mom, and then there's an incident with a predator that serves as the climax, but I don't want to give it away. It looks like it's coming on this Rarities Treasure... can't wait! :-D

Rarities Treasure? I know it's also on the Melody Time DVD.

Do you know if the Three Little Pigs or Peter and the Wolf cartoons/shorts are on any of the newly released Treasure collections coming up? I know Three Little Pigs was on the Silly Symphonies treasure but I saw that it was going to be included also on another upcoming collection.
