I continued with my "Disney Marathon." I have no other movies that begin with "F" or "G," so I moved on to the "H's." To day I watched: Honey I Shrunk the Kids - It was my favorite when I was little but know that I have a more mature sence, I really don't see the humor. Don't get me wrong it's got a few laughs and there are somethings that children wouldn't understand, I just don't think it was as funny as I remember it. Maybe that's because I used to watch it over and over again like 10 times a day. The Incredibles - For CGI it's still a good film. I think it's hilarious and full of action. The Incredibles is an "incredible" movie. But that's an over-statement. The Jungle Book - Another one of my favorite classic movies. I love the music and I also like Phil Harris who does the voice of Baloo and also the voice of Ol-Mally in Aristocats. This movie is very funny; Kah the snake cracks me up.
I continued my "Disney Marathon" starting with the "L's" first I watched: Lady and the Tramp - A very nice classic, my favorite scene is of corse when they're eating the spagetti. Lion King - Another one of my favorite Disney movies. Timon and Pumba are the best. And it has an excellent sound track! Little Mermaid - It's alright, not really my favorite. Petter Pan - Again not really my favorite, but it use to be when I was little. It just doesn't appeal to me now than it did before.
Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.
I've watched this every day this week. I think it's my favorite Disney movie right now. Sorry Carpet......
On another note, Martin Short's performance, while very good, gets more and more on my nerves every time I watch it. He's got his character down perfectly, but it annoys me that he thinks he has to shout almost every one of his lines.
The Rescuers: It's actually better than the last time I saw it. The score was very cool. It made me want to buy the soundtrack. The plot was fun and the characters were well-developed, however of the 44 animated Disney classics this one easily has the worst animation. Plus the songs were really weak. But overall a decent movie! 7/10
Well I had my Classic Cartoon Favourites volume 7 in, Extreme Adventure Fun.
I watched it once and then the first two sorts again and then I left it running and since it has Fastplay it continued all day (until 11:45pm). I usuaully make fun of Fastplay but it's not so bad. (I like something constantly playing... yes I am weird.)
A nice movie to watch at night or when you just want to spend a calm time (quite the opposite to TLK).
Also it helps, that it has to be the only movie so far I can watch late at night because of the mono track.
PS
Still don't love it. I'm having this same encountered feeling with SB. Both great movies but can't like them as much as I'd like. Let's see if with more viewings it helps me work on that.
No!!! I didn't know you liked Bambi. Wow, I'm shocked!!! Truely I am!
It's not gonna be until Monday until I can finish my "Disney Marathon," so yo'all gotta stay tuned. Oh and I should tell you why I'm doing it too. You see I'm going back to school on Aug. 22 so this is the last chace to watch all the movies I want before I'll be too busy to see them.
At 29 pages, I think this is due for a Part III and anyone who chooses to can start one (but just one). My only request is that we do not bother with title-only posts. If you want to do that, it sounds like something for Polls & Games, namely a big open-ended, non-stop poll. This forum is called "General Discussion" and this thread would be wonderful if everyone made an effort to share their thoughts on the Disney movie they just watched. You don't need to put colossal chunks of time into your post the way UD's reviewers do, but I don't think writing a few sentences or a paragraph for each title is asking too much.
