So that's what I thought, it's actually 100 epsidoes if you count each individual 30 minute episode and 88 if you count the Golden Sun as one and the otehr multi-parters as one each.

I think for the purposes of a DVD release it's going to be counted as 100 episodes. So essentially they are either releasing Five Box Sets with 20 episodes each or 4 sets with 25 episodes each.

My guess is with the former judging by the disc count. 25 episodes is usually about 4 discs while 20 seems right for 3 dsics.

My guess with Chip N' Dale is that they'll cram 22 on to the first releases and 21 onto the last.

DDDDuctakles....CCChip n' Dale....I'm still in shhhock. Whew that's better. Now then, Disney has finally started to release more of their 80s' animation shows. I nearly soiled myself when I heard Gargoyles was finally gonna see a release. This is great news indeed because before/after Gargoyles, there was this huge gap; releasing shows from the Disney Channel but not Toon Disney. I'm 21 now, and grew up with TD. Lets see some more releases;
1) Gummie Bears
2) Talespin
3) Goof Troop
4) Darkwing Duck
5) Bonkers
6) The Little Mermaid
7) Aladdin
8) More Gargoyles =D
9) I will put Timon and Pumba to the list, but didn't enjoy it as much as the other eight
P.S. It's scary, because I still have the intro songs stuck in my head

If it is four then there might be a possibility if there are no extras. Given that they were produced for afternoon instead of prime time they will be closer to 20 minutes than the normal 22 minute prime time show. Do we really need extras for this anyway? We shall see.

I hope they do it in as least volumes as possible but that will most likely not be the case.

Entirely possible. I don't actually expect any extras, i figure it'll be similar to Garfield and Friends in scope. Get em out in good quality and affordable with no frills.

Well "Gargoyles" manages a few bonus features, granted they weren't very in depth, but better than nothing. Also Gargoyles has audio commentaries for the first 5 episodes which were edited together as a "film" just like the first 5 episodes of DuckTales, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility for something to appear.

Looking forward to this. I was pretty happy to see it announced but at first I thought it couldn't be real and had to be a cruel joke!

I'll be getting DuckTales for sure but Rescue Rangers isn't on my must have list. Now only if they could release Gummi Bears, The Wuzzles and Tail Spin soon. :)

When were all of the multi-episodes shown as one? I thought i had watched ducktales from the beginning and i don't remember anything not airing as a normal 30min ep.

It'd be nice, I'm a huge fan of the show (and Scrooge McDuck in general).

I was thrilled to actually find all 100 episodes on Sharezaa a few years back but i mean who wouldnt trade them in for actual DVD's?

Needless to say I am looking forward to dropping $50 bucks at Wal-Mart and reliving my childhood.

I remember watching the first episode premiere when i was 4 going on 5 years old. This is a show i absolutely love. Hopefully this is the begining of many releases from Disney.

The first five actually premiered as one 2-hour movie in 1987.

I believe in 1988 or 89 they did the Bubba Duck/Time travel episodes as another two hours tv movie and then they premiered Gizmo Duck as Super Ducktales in 89 or 90.

They also had a few multi-parters that i dont think we're tv movies such as Golden Goose, and the money contest between scrooge and flintheart.

Well shows such as The Golden Girls are on three disk, little bonus features, and have about 25 episodes. So we could get Ducktales on 4 box sets; Rescue Rangers is different in that it only had 65 episodes. Hmm..Maybe we will get the two sets with 22 episodes then the last with 21. But, Disney would probably want Ducktales to have the same number of episodes per release as Ducktales so I really don't know. I am sure we will find out in the following days..
Wants Muppet Babies on DVD!!
Hopefully if Duckales and Rescue Rangers sell well we will get it!! Don't forget Gummi Bears!

Wow I must be completetly blanking out on that memory.

Was anything added to it, cuz honestly I don't see the episodes flowing that well all combined.

No if anything a little bit was cute in order to make it a two hour movie.

I never found any of them to flow awkwardly, in fact you could argue that the Golden Sun movie was better than more than a few theatrical disney movies (including the ducktales movie in my opinion).

Now my family lived in NY at the time so I can only base this off their stations but I am pretty sure Ducktales debuted on Fox 5, spent a little time there and then was eventually moved to WPIX 11.

However I believe the "movie" specials might ahve been on wonderful world of disney which I believe was on ABC.

The "movie" that introduced Gizmoduck was definitely aired on the Wonderful World of Disney, as I taped it that night.

They better not put the edited version on DVD. :x

I'm pretty sure I will be picking up Duck Tales. I can't get the theme song out of my head now! I don't know about Rescue Rangers. It was a decent show, but not one of my favorites. Now only if Darkwing Duck would come out on DVD I would be so happy !

Ducktales will always be my fav. out of the bunch. Chip N' Dale I like and will get, but i dont like it as much.

Talespin was actually a show I wasn't too crazy about as a kid but have grown to appreciate it more as an adult. Darkwing Duck was hit or miss for me as was Goof Troop.

Ducktales in many ways is a tale of two shows. The first season was awesome, the second season was good but not great and the last season it was time to say goodbye.

I would have preferred keeping it to the original format myself, i think it kind of jumped the shark when they introduced a cave kid who personally i always wanted to slap in the head.

I just have to add how excited I am about both of these sets. DuckTales is my favorite, but I loved Chip and Dale too!

This is one of the weirder edited Ducktales things.

On the Toon Disney showings, they edit the whole way Fenton gets his job.

Scrooge starts shooting him with a cartoony shotgun, and he goes, '465!' (or something), and Scrooge is all, '465 what!?' 'Shotgun Pellets.' 'You mean you counted them!?' On TD, he magically gets his job.. and it's the kind of thing I'm afraid they'll keep edited.

Also, the TV Air version (The 5 part version) has some alternate scenes and animation as compared to the movie version. There's this scene where Fenton's mom is watching the Gizmoduck chest TV which is completely different in the movie version.

Also, the serialized 5 part version version of the Chip 'n' Dale opening movie (To the Rescue?) as compared to the full length movie version is different as well. There's different animation in both of those too. They should very much include both on the DVD, or at least the alternate animation as an extra.

They could also include the full 3 minute music video of the opening theme as performed by the Jets which was shown on the Disney Channel on the C'n'D:RR DVD as well.

There's also the actual full Disney Afternoon opening animation, as well as the holiday bumpers (these were little situations of animation which came with the syndicaton package which were like Merry Christmas, Happy Thanksgiving that involved all the DA characters)
