Questions About The American Pie Films On DVD

Post by JiminyCrick91 »

The other week I picked up American Wedding for $10 because A) it was the cheapest and B) it is the best of the series. But now I want to own MORE! But there are too many different versions so I'd like your help.

1st what are the differences in AP1 Rated and Unrated (as I have rented only the rated as that was what they had).

2nd should I get the standard editon, the Ultimate Edition (Unrated 1st film if still in print), or standard edition with Beneath the Crust bonus discs

3rd how are the Beneath the Crust bonus discs

4th how long are the Beneath the Crust bonus discs

5th is there an other way to get this bonus disc and maybe the shirt from this set <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... e&s=dvd</a>

6th if not (there an other way to get that bonus disc and maybe the shirt) do you think it will ever go down in price to $35 or less as in Can. it is now $50

Well those are the questions thanks in advance to any and all who answer.

Well, I haven't bought any of the American Pie movies, though I've watched them. And tsk tsk! :p

How much would they be? Are they a priority to get for "DVDs to Buy"?

1.) If you care to read, <a href="http://www.thedigitalbits.com/reviews2/ ... l">This</a> will explain the difference between Unrated and Rated AP1 for the Ultimate Edition. And then <a href="http://www.thedigitalbits.com/reviews/a ... l">this</a> explains it for the Collector's Edition.

2.) Are features important to you or minutes? Or the name of the Edition? :p

3.) & 4.) I'm skipping as we don't own them.

5.) & 6.) No, I think that's the only way to get it. If you buy the set. I've always wondered if you remove the shirt, will the 2 other movies be able to fit in the set.

But I wouldn't spend my money on the American Pie movies and set just yet, even though it was the talk in high school. "Band camp" and the interesting convos you can bring up when someone order apple pie.

"How much would they be?"

well I don't know for the Ultimate Edition (if you can still get it) but the Beneath the Crust sets were $25.99 each and the "Collector's Editions" were $14.99-$25.99 (depending on the place)

"Are they a priority to get for "DVDs to Buy"?" yes I would say so.

thanks for the answer to Q1

"Are features important to you or minutes? Or the name of the Edition? :p" well I would say features are most important other than the film.

Jiminy,
Get the widescreen unrated Collector's Edition of each one and you'll be just fine. The long-rumored upcoming box set is said to be just a rehash, with no new footage added.

Could this be the reason for the new boxset?

"This one time, at band camp."

You might check used stores (Game Stop, etc.) for the Beneath the Crust discs. I picked mine up that way (just those discs, not the AP movies.)

They are between 32-34 minutes long, and are basically some more behind the scenes stuff, or things that were filmed on the set of American Wedding.

I would look for the Unrated Ultimate Edition of AP, and then if you find it, send it to me!!! :P
