Favorite Disney songs?

Post by rexcrk »

I did a quick search and couldn't find a topic of this so here we go.

As we all know, Disney movies just wouldn't be Disney movies without great songs! While I love a lot of 'em, here are my absolute favorite Disney songs, what are yours?

-Friend Like Me
-Prince Ali
-A Whole New World
-Under the Sea
-Part of Your World
-Hakuna Matata
-I Can Go the Distance
-Go the Distance
-I Won't Say (I'm in Love)
-Reflection
-I'll Make a Man Out of You
-Girl Worth Fighting For
-This is Halloween
-Town Meeting Song
-Making Christmas
-Poor Jack
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

A Whole New World (Aladdin)
God Help the Outcast (Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Circle of Life (The Lion King)
When Somebody Loved Me (Toy Story 2)
Baby Mine (Dumbo)
You Can Fly (Peter Pan)
You've Got a Friend in Me (??)
Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.

We have had an Ultimate Disney countdown of the best Disney songs... which is located here: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/countdown3/

You can also view other members' favorite Disney songs at the countdown topic at http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... +countdown. Even though the countdown is finished you can view the titles that other members like.

However there is a recently started topic in polls/games section title Favorite Disney song, and I believe you could post more than one of your favorites without using bandwith. http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... hp?t=10419

If only it was unlocked! ;) :p

Anyway, a list of my favourite songs would be:

Alice in Wonderland (Alice in Wonderland)
'Twas Brillig (Alice in Wonderland)
Part of that World (The Little Mermaid)
Under the Sea (The Little Mermaid)
Kiss the Girl (The Little Mermaid)
Supercalifragilistickexpialidocious (Mary Poppins)
A Spoonfull of Sugar (Mary Poppins)
Feed the birds (Mary Poppins)
When you wish upon a star (Pinocchio)
I've got no strings (Pinocchio)
Hi Diddle Dee Dee (Pinocchio)
Portobello Road (Bedknobs and Broomsticks)
The Age of not Believing (Bedknobs and Broomsticks)
A Whole New World (Aladdin)
Prince Ali (Aladdin)
Friend Like Me (Aladdin)
You've got a friend like me (Toy Story)
Strange Things (Toy Story)
Be Our Guest (Beauty and the Beast)
Beauty and the Beast (Beauty and the Beast)

I actually pinched Escapay's concept (from the countdown) of just picking out my favourite songs from my most favourite Disney movies, yet since those scores practically make up my favourite scores, it is somewhat accurate. I'd like to give an honourable mention to "Baby Mine", "When I see an elephant fly", "The Second Star to the Right" and a few others which would have come next (as Dumbo and Peter Pan are also on my most loved list), but I decided to knock them off as my list would have gotten too long.

1. A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
2. Reflection
3. A Whole New World
4. Winnie the Pooh
5. Beauty and the Beast
6. Part of Your World
7. Alice in Wonderland
8. Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah
9. When You Wish Upon a Star
10. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
11. Circle of Life
12. You Can Fly, You Can Fly, You Can Fly
13. The Second Star to the Right
14. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo
15. Out There
16. Once Upon a Dream
17. The Unbirthday Song
18. Colors of the Wind
19. Substitutiary Locomotion
20. Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride

Take this list with a grain of salt. While I'm sure these are amongst my favorites, I'm also sure that the order is kind of screwed up. I'm not used to ranking songs, so just pay more attention to what's there than what's ranked.
