The Von Drake Segment ends much the same as the F&FF version except Willy opens the ceiling to Von Drakes study rather that Bergens parlor, von drake faints, and Herman says the line that he's a figment of the imagination. Willie then walks down the same way but it cuts off before Jimminy comes back on the screen.Maerj wrote:I hope they use the tv show version since we already have Fun & Fancy Free on DVD, no need repeating the same exact version. When I got that DVD, that was the first time I ever saw the Edgar Bergern version and I found it to be really strange. Also, I thought that it ended differently than it did in that version, maybe I'm wrong. Can anyone with the Von Drake version tell us how it ends?

Given that this version was likely produced exclusively for the home video market, like so many other television specials and compilation cassettes released in the 80's, with added animated segments including Von Drake, etc. I would highly doubt that this would be the version featured on the Complete Mickey as it's showcasing the anthology of theatrical Mickey Mouse shorts which would put the "Fun And Fancy Free" adaption into theme. This was not officially the context for the cartoon as it was merely an innovative addition to incorporate a different and fresher ambience into reviving the classic short to television or home video in an unaccustomed fashion, and so I doubt this will be what's featured on the upcoming MMILC2 set. It's unfortunate, because given that I already own "Fun And Fancy Free", I'd much prefer to have this version made available...
