Inspiration for Frollo?

Post by Gregorian Chant »

Forgive me if I'm bringing up an old topic that's already been done, but when I was watching The Hunchback of Notre Dame, I thought that the villain Frollo looked familiar. Was he based on any particular person? Just curious. :eye:
Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.

As far as I know, he was only based on Frollo from the Hunchback novel.

it's possible that he may look similar to the actor who played his voice. I've seen that been done before.

Yeah, there is some resemblance between Tony Jay and Frollo, but don't you think it's stretching it a little?

By the way RJKD23, congrats on your 2800th post!

well i wouldn't have thought that they'd look identitcal, but i can see some stronger features like his nose and the length of the face. but who knows, those just seem like evil character characteristics, i mean look at maleficent, she has both of those too. any other suggestions as to who he may look like bc the more i look at frollo the more i agree with Gregorian Chant!

It may just be my imagination, but I think that Frollo looks a bit like Sarek, Spock's father from Star Trek (played by Mark Lenard). Maybe I'm a few fries short of a happy meal, :D but I see a resemblance.

I think he looks like the Frollo from the 1939 version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. They both have the same....curl on the sides of their heads.

While it's not a Disney movie I always thought Meg Ryan looked very similar to Anastasia on the movie cover. The first time I saw the movie being advertised I thought she looked like Meg Ryan and then soon after I found out she was her voice.
