I think they are only going to do EHT mix to the modern Platinum films. But probably "Pocahontas", "Lilo & Stitch" and "Simba's Pride" are going to get a DTS track each.Jake Lipson wrote:I hope they do one on the Pocahontas and Simba's Pride SEs, too.

Is there any mention of an Aladdin Trailer, cause that is one of the things I have been most looking forward to. I would assume it is there, just as the BATB trialer was on Snow White DVD, and TLK was previewed on the BATB DVD, so I am anxiously awaiting, the Aladdin trailer, on this coming DVD... 
and perhaps a trailer or couple of trailers, for the upcoming Janmuary SE's!!!!

There was no trailer on the "Snow White" DVD. The booklet only mentioned that "Beauty And The Beast" was coming next year. Well if Disney is sending out their product for review, you'd think they'll actually read the reviews. In fact, they have used blurbs from online reviews in the past. One thing that's getting me a bit worried is the fact that none of the DVD reviews for TLK so far have mentioned any form of commentary on the virtual galleries. I love virtual galleries as well as their little commentary anecdotes and I'll be very disappointed if the galleries are subpar to the ones of Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Sleeping Beauty.
Yes, and I find it rather sad that (despite the fact that I think they're better films) Alice in Wonderland and Pocahontas, which are simply special editions, are more than likely to receive better DVD treatment than the film that's arguably Disney's most popular. It's even sadder to think that every nook and cranny from the LD could have easily been ported over to the DVD had things like the Virtual Safari, games, and sing alongs been absent.
Not to say what grade they actually deserve, but its very possible the review skipped over a lot of material in the Continents menus of the disc due to the confusing organization. Yep, I'm serious when I say in the other thread that I'd rather have a 1 disc release with the 1994 original theatrical cut, the commentary, all the original trailers and TV spots, and the making-of documentary that exists than what they're giving us. Where as the Platinums are one releases that need to meet the demands of chjildren as well as the big movie buff fans...
Atleast... I don't know, I still say the Platinums should be the uktimate DVD's but plenty of people here seem to think they're just fine...

The only thing that sounds remotely similar to that style of featurettes (a series of shorts with celebs hosting each) is the Animal journey. Well I guess it is something, but the thing I liked about the other featurettes is that that talked about other disney movies, which is sorta a short break from all the Movie stuff you hear about on the DVD, anyway should still be interesting...

Since you want better Platinums, I'm surprised you favor featurettes that cover things besides the movie. The one on Snow White was fine because:
A. Other features already went in depth.
B. It showed how Snow White was released every decade, and how the entire company was built off of SW's success
The one on Beauty and the Beast was pure marketing fluff, IMO: Clearly promos for other movies. While some of the info was interesting, its really worthless seeing as it only sctratches the surface and we have (or will have soon) more info on those films on their respective DVDs.
Well I liked both the Snow White and Beauty and the Beast "general Disney" featurettes, and it's too bad that there won't be anything like that here. But "Disney Through the Decades" is about as promotional as you can get. It was almost like a corporate video for prospective investors. ("And then we opened this theme park, and bought ABC...")
Not that it wasn't informative and interesting, but if you're labelling Beauty's as fluff, I think "Disney Through the Decades" fits that bill, too.
