In terms of film quality, I would prefer Spirited Away.

I would say go for the sale! :p
Spirited Away is $14.99 on BestBuy.com

We can always wish for Robin Hood and Fox & the Hound to become SE in the future. They're doing it to TENG and TARZAN! :o

I'd go for Fox and the Hound, but that's because it's a personal favourite of mine!

Unless you are desperate to watch Robin Hood and Fox And The Hound then i suggest buying Spirited Away.
Hopefully those 2 will get a re-release in the future, would save you double dipping. :)

I'd say Spirited Away since it's on sale, it has lots of special features, and it's a great movie.

When are The Fox and the Hound and Robin Hood going out of print? They've been out on dvd for like 5 years..

No contest Spirited Away. If it comes down to the Disney movies Fox and the Hound is the better pick.

actually i'm trying to complete my disney collection but if there's a new dvd coming out like re-release then i'll just wait.

just like what happened to me, i just bought a single disc version of TENG only to find out that they are re-releasing it in Oct 18 with a 2 disc edition. it's a good thing i was able to return it.

When in doubt, consult UD reviews; that's what they're here for! And we happen to have reviews of all three titles you're considering -- <a href=http://www.ultimatedisney.com/robinhood.html target=blank>Robin Hood</a>, <a href=http://www.ultimatedisney.com/foxandhound.html target=blank>The Fox and the Hound</a>, and my own extensive look at <a href=http://www.ultimatedisney.com/spiritedaway.html target=blank>Spirited Away</a>.

There's no guarantee so it's all just running on HOPING & WISHING with Disney. Plus, you never know with Disney and their ridiculous releases (I say ridiculous because they're re-releasing TENG over L&S. :x)

yeah, Disney is so unpredictable. That's why I'm double thinking if I'm going to buy these Robin Hood and Fox and the Hound dvds.

I'd say don't get Spirited Away. I didnt think the movie was well paced at all, and is probably my least favorite Ghibli movie.

i'm thinking of buying this dvd set from Ebay --> http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 56579&rd=1 but it only has a Japanese track but contains an English audio. I'm not even sure if these are Original Release. Can someone redirect me where I can buy all of them with English track?

What are the first wave of Miyazaki's movies? Are there any Second Wave? or are we in Third Wave?

Out of Miyazaki's movie collection which do you think is worth to buy aside from the Spririted Away? Or Spirited Away is the only worthy movie?

Thanks.

All of the Miyazaki movies are worth buying, but the best by far, is Castle in the Sky!

Here are the waves of Miyazaki/Ghibli films:
Wave 1: Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service
Wave 2: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Porco Rosso, The Cat Returns
Wave 3 out on August 16th: Pom Poko, and My Neighbor the Yamadas.

Princess Mononoke is available on Miramax DVD, while Grave of the Fireflies is available on Central Park Media DVD.

My Neigbor Totoro is available on FOX DVD, but a very crappy version, and a Disney version is expected within the next year.

Yet to be released are Only Yesterday, Whisper of the Heart, Howl's Moving Castle(now playing in theatres), Ocean Waves, and On your Mark.
Best Movies of 2009:
1. Moon
2. Inglorious Basterds
3. The Hurt Locker
4. Coraline
5. Ponyo
