Anyways what I was going to say is.... youa re not too far off. Back when I had to get 50 posts it seems like I was taking forever but oddly I was post shy and I was so unsure what I wnated. Take this time and make sure you pick a great avatar that will have us 'oooing and awwwing'.

orestes.
I had to wait and get 50 posts but I didn't mind but then it ended right after so I was like... 'Ah well...' and now it is back. This post is worthless.

if you want a great avi, pick ANY picture of Bambi (heck, it can be a BIG picture too), and i'll make it fit to the 100 x 100 pixels with better color too!PrincessJen wrote:have the same problem. It's okay. I'm trying to find the perfect pic for my avvi anyway. Anyone know of any good Bambi avvis?
i'm not bragging or anything like that...I just feel that people should display any picture they want as their avatar as long as it meets the requirements!

You'll want to make sure it's within the new size requirements (100 x 100 pixels), though. Yours is currently 125 x 125. Congrats!Flower's Friend wrote:Thanks all and well I now have my Avator I am just so special lol, also thanks Luke for the Christmas gift of me getting to have my Avator for a time before I got to 50

you need 50 postes(in any part of the forum but Polls & Games) before you get avatar (the pic) and welcome to the ultimatedisney.com forum
also The maximum dimensions for an avatar was 140 x 140. It will now be 100 pixels by 100 pixels.

This is covered in the Forum FAQ.

Avatars
Why do you have to post fifty messages before you get an avatar? It seems quite cruel really, to see all these people with lovely little pictures and you're stuck looking really plain.

Cruel is a bit harsh, especially if you apparently haven't taken the time to look into the reasoning behind it. There's a little thing called bandwith- which avatars pull from- which costs money. Since there are new members joining here all the time, it makes sense to make a trial period of sorts for that reason. If a member spends a little time here and actually invests in the community (i.e. not making 50 nonsense posts just to get a picture), then they will have earned an avatar. Sure, they are nice, but not really necessary and they shouldn't be anyone's focus. Anyone who puts time and thought into the board will eventually get there. Welcome to UD.

Avatar Question
I have a small question about avatar sizes.
I recently have seen this avatar: http://ca.geocities.com/sanderson93/cla ... nimate.gif and I thought it was a great avatar. I say someone on the UD forums using it, but when I tried to make it mine, I was informed that the avatar is too big.
I guess my question is: why can some people use large avatars but others cannot?

If the avatar is larger than the allowed size, then it's being hosted off-site, which you can do as well in your Profile.
