Download Silent Disney Cartoons

Post by xpern »

Before Mickey Mouse there was Oswald, Alice and Julius. These are Walt Disney’s earliest attempts at animation. Some are made entirely by Walt himself, like Little Red Riding Hood and the Newman Laugh-O-Grams!!!

The cartoons were made between 1922 and 1928 (Before Mickey Mouse was created)
These are silent Black&White Cartoons. Some of them have some audio included but that is later additions, so you might as well turn the sound off, to really get into the feeling of the era!

If have made a torrent of all the cartoons I have found, but the compilation is in no way complete. If anyone of you animation buffs out there have some of the silent cartoons I'm missing, please let me know!

Download 46 different Laough-O-Grams, Alice Comedies and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit here:

Many of the shorts are lost - there are no known prints left in existence. I know I saw a list somewhere of what existed and what was lost - cant remember if it was here or somewhere else. Try the search function maybe you can find the list.

As far as I know, the copyright for the Alice Comedies and the Disney Oswald Cartoons har expired. (Those were copyrighted by M.Winkler I think) If you find cartoons made for the Disney corporation it's most likely illegal.

I believe all of those are in the public domain and thus it would be legal.

Who cares if it is legal or not? The Laugh O' Grams and the Alices are in PD. I don't know about Oswald but its not like Universal cares about any of its classic cartoons.

They’re video files. So no, there are no viruses. They work perfect.

That's really cool. Why do you have to download all of them though? I think it would be simpler if you could download a few at a time, because it seems like its taking forever.
