Technically the series ended with a family of Hunters going after the gargoyles. They blew up the clock tower, nearly killed Angela, Elisa Maza, and Lexington. Demona and Goliath for a short time worked together. Xanatos wants to repay the gargoyles for saving his son Alex in previous episodes (The Gathering), so he invites them back to Castle Wyvern. Elisa meets Goliath on the tower right before sun rise and they have this short conversation.
Elisa: You know how I feel about you, right?
Goliath: How we both feel? Yes.
Elisa: Good. *jumps up, wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him on the lips, then leaves him just as he turns to stone with a smile*
The last episode of the Gargoyles series was "Hunter's Moon III"
The other ending was how The Goliath Chronicles ended. Greg Weisman was not on board for that and did his best to salvage what they had. He pretty much begged them not to end the series like they planned to and it's still deffinetly not ended the way it should have. Greg had a "master plan". Not the cliche, train crash and sudden change of heart by the humans. The last episode of TGC was "Angels of the Night"
Anyways, see this site for all episodes synposis

The first season is on DVD now. My local Best Buy, Wal-Marts, and Circuit Cities all sell them about around $20.
There is no official release date, but Greg Weisman has already indicated that the second season will be on DVD by the end of the year. Likely between Oct-Dec. It is unclear how they will release the second season. Either as the full second season in one box set, or split them up into 2 sets.
