Hello - I'm brand new here. Just found this site in my search to obtain a copy of the great Disney short "The Truth About Mother Goose." Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Basically we speculated it would be in the Assorted Treasures DVD (Wave #?), but that information has not been updated in a long time.

Thanks, Kram, for replying! I went to the link you listed and was thrilled to find at least some info, however futile. I was wondering if the person who said he/she had taped it from the Disney Channel is still here and would be able to tell me when it was aired and maybe the feature film/show it trailed. I've been searching through my own tapings of assorted Disney shows in the hope I'd find "Mother Goose" but have failed miserably. I'd be even willing to buy it as an educational film (pricey) but can't even find it that way....alas.

Hi,

It was never released in the U.S. Back in the 80's It was released on laserdisc in Japan, very difficult to find today. It's on a collection called "Disney Cartoon Festival Volume 4". I have it

Like Song of the South, there are subtitles only during the songs. It appeared 2 times on Japanese laserdisc. If you happened to tape any "Mouseterpiece Theatre" on the Disney Channel (hosted by the late George Plimpton), "Mother Goose" might be in one installment.

I can't think of what other Disney Channel programming I had seen this on.

How I wish Disney Co. would put its gems back on their three (or more?) Channels! Besides growing up (born 1968) with the Disney library presented on the Wonderful World of Disney, I watched the Disney Channel when I was in Jr. High and some of High School.

I think if Disney Co. would show older things along side their newer fare, their DVD-buying audience would expand.

My daughters love watching my collections of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. There are parts of the original Mickey Mouse Club they like watching, too. But these aren't broadcast anymore (unless it's 3AM).

Generational word-of-mouth works here, too. My mom expressed that she'd like to have "Johnny Tremain" and "So Dear to My Heart," among others. What did I do? I went to the public library and a video rental store and checked these out. Now, I'm looking forward to the day these films make it to store shelves (Johnny comes marching home to my collection, if the Lord wills, when it gets released this Aug. 2!).
