Cinderella SE DVD specs in France...

Post by Wonderlicious »

In the odd chance that you are wondering, some news has leaked out on the bonus features and available editions of Cinderella in France. Like the other platinums in France, there are going to be two editions, a single disc edition and a two disc collector's edition:

Damn it. Europe IS getting the ESPN <strike>Shit</strike> featurette. A bigger waste of disc space I've never seen (apart from the Rave footage on the Pitch Black DVD).
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

And both editions will be out in France on October 26th.

Here are tiny previews at the artwork:
The 2 disc set is the same as the R1 PE and we notice that the current artwork (subject to change) for the single disc edition is the same as the French poster for Cinderella's theater rerelease this month.

Also, on the same date, a buch of bipack sets that include Cinderella and other Disney movies will go on sale.
And, Cinderella 2 will also be rerelease (both as one of the bipacks with the 1st Cinderella and alone). Here's the first artwork available :

To answer question #3, the second picture is the cover art for the single disk release France will be receiving.

Nick Bryant wrote:Thanks "Disney Fan 2000" for answering one of my questions, but why are France getting a 2-disc special edition and single disc special edition of Cinderella? That's just pointless, if they're gonna be at the same price everyones gonna get the 2-disc special edition because it's better value for money.
Okay, you seem really nice but you've got to red carrefully   8)

"1. I'm from the UK and have been eager to find cover art for the Cinderella 2-disc special edition DVD and the pictures you have look promising, therefore, I would like to know where you obtained them from to see whether that's the new cover art for the UK release (Please do not post the U.S cover art, for I have already seen it and am not interested)."

> I don't know about the UK for the cover art since I'm posting the ones that will be released in France, but from previous releases, we can deduce that it will be the same. Just look in UK selling's websites if they're already available to preview.

2. Is this the official UK cover art or will it change?

> Again, it's not the cover art for the UK. As for the change, the cover art for the 2 disc SP is unlikely to change since it's exaclty the same as the definit region 1's. As for the one of the single disc release, and as I was saying earlier (so please be careful and read), it's the same as the French poster for Cinderella's theater rerelease this month and this one is subject to change because it's really rare that Disney DVD covers in France are the same as the theatrical poster.

3. Why are France getting a 2-disc special edition and single disc special edition of Cinderella? That's just pointless, if they're gonna be at the same price everyones gonna get the 2-disc special edition because it's better value for money.

> No, that's not useless, it's very usefull on the contrary. See, Disney DVDs are also and foremost dedicated to children, and children don't care about a 2 disc set loaded with bonus features for Disney fans, they just care about the movie and a few child games... So BVHE France is releasing single disc release, cheaper, about 5-6 Euros cheaper than the 2 Disc set. This is for parents whose kids are gonna beg them to buy the movie on DVD.

Do you really think that BVHE UK would have posted a cover art for Cinderella yet? I bet that there are people who work at BVHE UK who don't even know that Cinderella is supposed to be released this October...

Nick, as you are new to this board (welcome! :D), the main aim of the International forum is to have moments of slagging off BVHE UK. They are genuinely so poor with customer relations (and I mean really poor, I'm not just being a wingebag, do a forum search on this area of the forum for a more details), that you just can't help but make posts like these. :P

If you are going to slay any company like that, please know that it is not BVHE UK itself that you should slay... It's the PR company. The PR company is in charge of all promotion and everything around the release of most Disney DVD's...
