U.S. versus CANADA ; PLEASE read & HELP !!!

Post by gurgi »

Hi everybody,

I live in Belgium but I collect Disney DVD's from all regions. I usually order DVD's online from the Canadian dealer DVD Box Office, because they are very co-operative towards international customers. However : once in a while a DVD comes out in Canada with a cover that's different from the U.S. version. Unfortunately I can't see that on their website since they always use the U.S. image. So in past months I ended up with DVD's of Air Bud, Gordy and Rolie Polie Olie that were not Buena Vista releases and therefore they didn't carry the Disney logo. I returned them, got my money back and re-ordered them in the U.S. ; no problem !

However, I am DESPERATELY looking for someone that can help me out on this matter for some of my future orders. Is there someone that knows whether or not the following DVD's have the same covers (with a Disney logo) in Canada :

Stanley : Hop to It
Stanley : Spring Fever
Kim Possible : The Secret Files
The Other Side of Heaven
Schoolhouse Rock : 2-disc 30th Anniversary edition

I can't find an image of the actual Canadian cover anywhere. SO ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!

THANKS !!!

Bart,

Fear not -- all the titles you listed in your e-mail (Stanley, &c) have the same covers as the U.S. releases. The reason Gordy, RPO, and some of the Air Bud titles had different covers was because BVHE doesn't have the rights to distribute those titles in Canada.

Hope that helps!

Dear ITS,

THANKS A LOT for your reply. Of course it helps, but what makes you so sure ? Have you actually seen them or do you own them ? I'd hate to return another DVD to Canada and lose some more money on unnecessary shipping costs. If you've seen them somewhere on the Internet, please share the site.

Thanks,
Bart
