Props to you for getting a job so you can buy what you want! ;)
And of course, welcome to the forums brownie! :eye:
Thanks. :)

Oh, and by the way, I only collect 2D-animated Disney films.

I bought my first DVD player in February of 2000. I had my eye on them for a while, but held back because it took a while for Disney to get with the program (they were gambling on another format). I finally caved in when Disney put out DVD's and I realized that I could get my hands on bilingual anime as well.

I think my first actual Disney DVD was the Tarzan collector's edition. Or maybe it was A Bug's Life collector's edition. Hmm. It's all kinda hazy now.

The first one I bought myself was The Lion King:Special Edition, but I think we had the toy story movies and Tarzan floating about in the house before then.

Bought my BF a DVD player two xmas's ago and after moving in together for a short time in the summer I acquired the DVD player (he moved home for a year and his mom already had one). Then after going to Disney this past March (my 15th trip) I became very nostalgic for all my Disney favorites when we were looking through the gift shops. I had quite a VHS collection at home and at a flea market near Tampa I found Aladdin and Snow White DVDs. Both turned out to be bootlegs (I didn't know the difference). When I got back to VA, I found "The Watcher in the Woods" at Target and have been buying Disney DVDs ever since!!!

Now I've got 30 Disney DVDs and two Treasures (and a trip to KMart for $9 DVDs on the way!!) :D

Aw man, you just reminded me that I've yet to get my hands on that DVD! I've never actually seen it but it has a fascinating history.

I absolutely LOVE the Watcher in the Woods!!!!

I have yet to see it in stores (even target) since I saw it that one time in March. There was a special Disney DVD section (not in the kids section, off on it's own) that had mostly old live actions at the time. I bought it for $14.99 I think. I actually almost screamed when I saw it because I had never seen it in stores and had watched it ALL the time when I was little. It was one of my favorite movies ever!

Definitely go find it! And watch the alternate endings- I almost peed myself laughing. Thank God they didn't choose to go with those!!

I bought my first Disney dvd in October 2003, it was FrankenPooh/Spookable Pooh. Then in 2004 I started building my collection. Even though it's small right now. I am just waiting for a lot of the titles on my list to be released into 2-disc Special Edition sets.

Well, my last Disney VHS was The Emperor's New Groove, and after that I didn't buy anything Disney until late 2004 when the Aladdin: Platinum Edition came out. I had just recently gotten back into Disney after watching Aladdin on VHS because I was bored. After the Aladdin DVD, my best friend bought me the Finding Nemo DVD for my birthday, which got me into PIXAR movies again. Ever since then, my Disney DVD collection has expanded into:

Animated Classics:
Aladdin: Platinum Edition
The Lion King: Platinum Edition
Pocahontas: 10th Anniversary Edition
Mulan: Special Edition
The Emperor's New Groove: The Ultimate Groove Edition
Atlantis: The Lost Empire: Collector's Edition
Treasure Planet
Brother Bear: 2-Disc Special Edition

PIXAR:
A Bug's Life: Collector's Edition
Monsters Inc: Collector's Edition
Finding Nemo: Collector's Edition
The Incredibles: Collector's Edition

DTV:
The Return of Jafar
Aladdin & the King of Thieves

Other:
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Spirited Away
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

EDIT: Post 400, baby! How appropriate that my 400th post would be on how I got involved in Disney in the first place. Thank you! Thank you! I do this on all of my 00th posts.
