What if the movie happened like this? (Rated PG-13)

Post by Just Myself »

This is a fun game where you get to tell us what you'd do if you could remake your favorite scenes from movies. Please name the movie, what scene it is and what would happen if you made it. You can make it anyway you want as long as it's PG-13 friendly. I'll start:

The movie: Titanic
The scene: Jack and Rose are hanging on to each other as the Titanic sinks.

JACK: Promise me one thing... Never let go Rose!
ROSE: I'll never let go Jack! I'll... ah... ah.... AH CHOO! *She lets go of Jack*
JACK: ROOOOOOOOOSSSSEEEE!!!!! *he falls and drowns*
ROSE: *sniffling after her sneeze*Oh shit.

The Movie: The Empire Strikes Back
Scene: "I am your father"

Vader: "I am your father"
Luke: "You are? I thought you were a homosexual?"
Vader: "I mean't I'm your mother's uncle's wife's son's, uncle's roommates."
Luke: "That explains a lot"

The Movie: The Pacifier
The scene: Shane is assuring Mrs. Plummer her kids are in good hands.

SHANE: Mrs. Plummer, I've been assigned to protect your kids.
GARY THE DUCK: *****, I'm gonna bite you.
SHANE: Uh huh. *continues talking*
GARY: For real, dawg, I gonna bite you.
SHANE: Sure. *still continues talking, Gary bites him*
SHANE: OMGWTF I KEEL YOU, DUCK!
GARY: No one ever listens to the duck. Aflac is a great example.

I think this is more R-rated than PG-13, even when you put a * in place of the u. :)

what do you define as PG-13? Huh? And I did not use any swear words. I've heard material in Shrek and Shrek 2 that was worst than that, which was rated PG (I think). Tsk Tsk Tsk...

Well I edited my second post (took out the f-word and starred (*) the b-word) just to get you two lemmings off my back ;) , but Luke obviously doesn't see anything wrong with it, cause I'm still warningless. Amish.

PG-13
Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. This signifies that the film rated may be inappropriate for pre-teens. Parents should be especially careful about letting their younger children attend. Rough or persistent violence is absent; sexually-oriented nudity is generally absent; some scenes of drug use may be seen; one use of the harsher sexually derived words may be heard.

R
Restricted-Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian (age varies in some locations). This signifies that the rating board has concluded that the film rated contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their children to see it. An R may be assigned due to, among other things, a film's use of language, theme, violence, sex or its portrayal of drug use.

NC-17
No One 17 and Under Admitted. This signifies that the rating board believes that most American parents would feel that the film is patently adult and that children age 17 and under should not be admitted to it. The film may contain explicit sex scenes, an accumulation of sexually-oriented language, or scenes of excessive violence. The NC-17 designation does not, however, signify that the rated film is obscene or pornographic

Dude, this stuff is PG-13 rated. Shit is said repeatedly in PG MOVIES. And there is an occasional F word. So, my next comment is probably PG material cause if I went for PG-13 it would offend you-

Memnv, you're a 37 year old WUSS.

No son, I am not a wuss but I do have a family with young kids and There are also a lot of young kids who come here who dont need to see that kind of language, maybe when you are old enough and have kids you would understand.

here is the PG rating for you

PG
Parental Guidance Suggested. Some material may not be suitable for children. This signifies that the film rated may contain some material parents might not like to expose to their young children - material that will clearly need to be examined or inquired about before children are allowed to attend the film. Explicit sex scenes and scenes of drug use are absent; nudity, if present, is seen only briefly, horror and violence do not exceed moderate levels

There is no cussing in a pg movie, and a pg-13 movie may have 1 scene with cussing

Young kids eh. I don't think anyone under 12 comes to these forums, and most of the people here have seen Pg-13 movies. Stop trying to act like a hero.. I think you need to quit trolling and just leave this thread alone and try to stay on topic!!!

You got served!!

No offense, but for once Alan is 100% correct. No one under 13 is allowed on these boards and if they're here they're doing so against the rules. And many PG movies have words that are worse than the ones used here: Cat in the Hat, Kangaroo Jack, Big, hell even Flight of the Navigator has bad language. All PG. And kids today here this language almost day to day, and once again if you're letting your kids on here you're breaking rules.

For a 37 year old, you sure do use horrible punctuation and grammar. You're right, you're not a wuss; your a WASP over protecting parent, that is, if you are telling the truth about your 'kids and age'.

While I don't have any problem with the original thread content (as juvenile as it may be), I do have a problem with comments like these.

Personal attacks like these are not now nor have they ever been tolerated. It's true that as far as I know, of the ~2000 registered members of this forum only one is under 13 (at least having truthfully gone through the registration process) which is why I'd let a thread like this (particularly one which is titled so much) stay open without a warning. A discussion/debate about the MPAA's rating standards over the years would be fine too. But this thread has become an unsavory blend of both which satisfies neither the original purpose nor the latter.

I'll give it one more chance to stay civil, which may be one chance more than it deserves at this point, but hostile personal attacks against forum members will not be tolerated and if there is even one more present in this thread, action will be taken.

memnv, if you're not pleased with the content of this thread, you are welcome to ignore it (as others have). It seems there are only two members participating in this "game" so if there is little interest, it will vanish on its own in due time.

Just Myself and Alan, if you're not pleased with memnv's constructive criticism, then tell him/her why. Produce reasons why you disagree and do not turn this into an unfriendly "I'm right, you're wrong...and now I'm going to insult you" thread. You're welcome to attack a person's argument but not that individual as a person.

I think everyone involved with this thread would benefit from reading these new guidelines that the UD moderators have concocted:

movie: Pretty Woman, scene: Stuckey Assault

Vivian: *bite*
Stuckey: *slap*
Vivian: *pulls out handgun and shoots Stuckey through back of right hand*
Stuckey: OW! AH! OOH! EE!! You shot me, you shot me in the hand! You dirty hooker!
Vivian: *shoots Stuckey again, in left knee*
Stuckey: AAAAHHHH!!! OH MY GOD, you REALLY shot me this time!!!
Edward Lewis: *bursts through door* Phillip, what are you doing?!
Phillip Stuckey: What am I doing??!!! She shot me!! Twice, damn it!!!
Edward: Whatever reason she did it for, you must have deserved it.
Vivian: *flashes cutesy, wide, America's Sweetheart-smile*
Stuckey: Get me to a hospital, get me to a doctor quick!!
Edward: Why should we do that?
Stuckey: So I can recover, then come back and shoot you for introducing me to this psycho hooker!
Vivian: *shoots Stuckey in the chest*
(Later, in back of police car)
Edward: *looks over at Vivian* I always knew you were trash.
