Please help: Hercules DVD Question

Post by Disney Villain »

I was going to purshace Hercules on DVD when I found out there were two diffrent versions: the "Limited Issue", and the "Gold Collection".

Amazon.com is selling the "Gold Collection" version
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00004R99S/qid=1119573249/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/103-4902447-7080607?v=glance&s=dvd

Wal-Mart is selling the "Limited Issue" version
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=1101740

What is the Diffrence between the 2 versions? Which one should I buy?
Thanks in advance :D

They're both exactly the same. The Gold Classic version is simply a repackaged version of The Limited Issue one. Whichever one you choose is up to you, but the cynic in me says that since Hercules will be most likely become a 2-disc Special Edition in the future (2007, perhaps), you should pick up the Limited Issue so you can sell it for more on Ebay.

You know what's a great place to get answers to questions on Disney DVDs: UD's reviews! Jake Lipson did a really thorough job of addressing this issue in his <i>Hercules</i> review: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/hercules.html

Of course, Kelvin's pretty much provided you the same answer but you would have gotten it sooner searching UD!

Hey Luke who's Herccules???

Anyways both Gold Collection and Limited Issue are almost the same.
I would prefer Gold Collection it has some extra material.
I thought the Limited Issue is out of print.

Maybe like DisneyKid said just wait for the 10th Anniversary Edition.

I'd wager that Wal-Mart doesn't really have that old artwork anyway. It was discontinued more than five years ago. It's highly unlikely that they'd have copies still.
