Gargoyles DVD Postponed to 2004!
Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman speaks out on the DVD! "I was contacted by John Hanna at Buena Vista Home Video," said Weisman. "The Gargoyles DVD is definitely on. As some of you know, I had been concerned since I hadn't heard from John in a long time. The "bad news" is that it has been moved back to 2004 release to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the series. " He also says that BVHE is currently trying to decide if season sets or best-ofs would be best, and I hold out hope for a tenth anniversary edition of the movie (which splices together the first story arc) followed by season boxes (which would feature the episodes from the movie in their original episodic forms and the rest of the series.) In any case, I'll be buying these!!

Gargoyles was a great show with great-looking animation. I can't wait for the dvd to be released. It seems like it would make sense to release the episodes as seasons, in order. Due to the fact that the episodes tell a story in the order that they were shown, it would be almost useless to release best-of's, since you would be getting bits and pieces of the story. Plus, it's always more fun to buy an entire season of a show than a best-of, at least for me.

Have not really seen much of the Gargoyles here, but would definitely look into a season set if released (it is a good way to catch up quickly after all). I hope this starts a trend of Disney TV series on DVD. I would love to see a bunch of them in compete sets.
I was watching Aladdin the series this afternoon before work, and the local Disney channel had an hour special. The episodes were really good, and alot of fun. I would love to see those on DVD too.
But there is a wealth of material out there I'd love to see released (but my bank balance wouldn't): Little Mermaid series, Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, Tail Spin (which was one of my faves a few years back...it is probably like 10 years isn't it? Sheesh I'm old...)
That might cost a bit, but a sacrifice I'm willing to make

Well, the same's true of the Spider-Man discs Disney are releasing now. The episode titles even say "Sins of the Father part xxx" on them at the start but "Best Ofs" is all were getting (although "Selected Episodes" is a better description than "Best Of"). And Spider-Man had a blockbuster movie as "marketing synergy"!It seems like it would make sense to release the episodes as seasons, in order. I can't see Disney releasing "Season Sets" for any of their TV 'toons. A shame because I'm gagging for a "House of Mouse" set (and I believe the first season only had 13 episodes which would make it an inexpensive 2 disc set).
I'll be happy if Disney release any of their TV 'toons on disc in America with 5-8 episodes on a single disc just for now. (Such releases were rumoured for Europe, but I can't find any unless this is a DVD of "Jungle Cubs" - it may be VHS (from France)

D'oh - replying to Loomis' Pooh thread reminded me - we appear to have Winne the Pooh TV discs (well, disc at the moment) released in the UK! But it does have the subtitle "Vol 1"
