I think the top two will definetly be Casablanca and Wizard Of Oz. But, "Bond. James Bond." Has a fighing chance in the top 5.
I'm glad at least one line from Clueless made it. That actually surprised me, I totally thought it was going to be "Whatever".
But hey, what is a movie quote list without the classic line from Bill & Ted? "Excellent!" is cool but that movie has so many other good lines, like "Strange things happen at the Circle K"

My predictions for the top 5:

Casablanca
Wizard Of Oz
James Bond
E.T.
and chance are, some movie I haven't heard of before

Getting a bit off topic here, has anyone checked out the 100 years... 100 film scores? Some of the nominated scores where really good, but I can't believe they missed Hans Zimmer's work for The Lion King. Yes, I'm the biggest fan of the movie and I want it to win anything it could garner, but being a fan and all I think the score really deserved its spot among the others. I really see some undeserving scores like Harry Potter and the Sorcere's Stone or the non-origianl Godfather score; as well as many others.
Here's a link:http://afi.com/tvevents/100years/scores.aspx

As I said before, a lot of scores were ignored and were replaced instead for other old movies because they're "the American classics" and because they are also part of their 100 movies countdown. I never really did pay attention to their choices since they picked Hakuna Matata instead of other great TLK song for their other countdown.

Other missed great pieces of music:
Beauty and the Beast(Really good)
Little Mermaid(Very imaginative, it transports you into the underwater world)
Jurassic Park (I always thought this was good)

I agree that it seems the majority of the scores only seem to be nominated more for their classic status than for their actual scores. I can't believe The Passion isn't on there (too new? too controversial?), and Hook (considered to be one of John Williams' finer scores) is also missing. They're judging the films more than their scores, it seems. Sigh. I'm pleased to see Edward Scissorhands, King of Kings, and Harry Potter on there, though. Hopefully all three will make it to the list, though I think King of Kings may get overshadowed by Ben-Hur (both are by the same composer). My other favorites (E.T., Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Wizard of Oz) were all shoe-ins. The only Disney score to make it, though, was Bambi, which is an odd choice. I find Bambi's score to be kind of forgettable. ::shrug::

I'm sure that Casablanca will be number one:

Can't wait for this. My feelings on it are about the same as Kelvin's (I do have to disagree with him on Bambi's score, though... this might be the second time I've ever disagreed with DK  :P).

I have to say that the 400 nominees list was surprisingly pleasing to me- with only a few glaring omissions. If the show turns out to be as much fun to watch as the nominees list was to read, then it'll be good. Something tells me that the 100 that make it won't be the best ones.

I doubt it will be near the top, but I'm hoping that The Color Purple at least gets on there!

I think Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back may have quotes in the top 10.

Alot of great ones, alot of bad ones and alot of so-so ones, and even some I haven't even heard off.

I really think forgetting alot of Disney's and Jurassic Park is a bit of a crime. I mean Harry Potter was nothing original, well definatly not John's best work. I even wonder how the Village got in there!

I really liked Bambi's score. No it not Disney's best, but I think it's really good. I mean I think the sound of when Man is coming sounded like it was a huge inspiration to Jaws IMO.

But when that countdown comes, if one of John Williams's score doesn't become #1, then you know the list has been screwed!

Considering that's not the real line from the movie, I wouldn't count on it.

Han had better quotes than that.

Just finished the watching the special and, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." There were some excellent quotes, some surprising, and some that are missing in the list. I personally thought they'd have at least one from Disney (Magic mirror on the wall, who's the fairiest one of all.)

I did like all Marlon Brando, especially, "I'll make him an offer he can't refuse." There were a lot of Casablanca quotes which left me wanting to watch the movie, and two Terminator quotes that rather shocked me when I saw them. The famous Star Wars line, "No, I am your father" didn't make it, but at least "May the force be with you" did. To sum things up, there was no sign of animation to be seen, not even to remind people of those timeless classics. The only one was The Lion King, which was part of a trivia that goes "Which of these films was made a Broadway show in 1994," and you see a bit of footafe from the movie. The rest.... nada.

Some good quotes and alot of bad quotes. But alot I never heard of. But knowing AFI I'm not surprised.(However the one with the "greens is human" or something scared me!)I'm surprised, "No, I am your father" didn't get in! But that really dumb lime, "Love means never having to say your sorry" at number 13 was an insult! I'm glad for the top 2! Even though I personally perfer, "I'll make him an offer he can't refuse." better than "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!" But what do I know. And even though Luke guessed one right, his other prediction,"There's no place like home" only got number 23. But alot of interesting ones, even though no animated ones.

I liked alot of the guest stars. I think Leslie Nielsen and Ray Romano were hilarious. They made me laugh several times. There was one guy that I can't remeber his name, who I really didn't like, but I liked all the other apperances.

Overall not the greatest list, but better than last year's song list.

Hasta la Vista, Baby. 8)

After watching this countdown and seeing no quotes from any Disney films, I suggest that the next Ultimate Disney countdown should the Top 100 (or Top 50) greastest Disney quotes. Does anyone else think we should have a countdown for the best Disney quotes?
