I just thought of a great reason why anyone who wants to do a "Star Wars Movie Marathon" should go 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3.
It's like the Chronicles of Narnia. It started with Lion Witch and Wardrobe, then did four books, then the prequel (Magician's Nephew), then a final book. The prequel was written with the intent that you had read 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 already, since in 6, there's bits that explain what will happen in 1. So with Star Wars, 4, 5, 6 is really 1, 2, 3. And the actual 1, 2, and 3 are not only prequels, but prequels with the assumption that you have seen 4, 5, and 6, so you'll be prepared to be given all this backstory. I don't know if Lucas did it like this too, maybe he did, otherwise it spoils a lot in 4, 5, and 6.
So, in a movie-watching timeline it's:
A New Hope, followed by Empire Strikes Back, finishing with Return of the Jedi. Then you're suddenly taken back in time and you learn of the events that brought on ANH, ESB, and ROTJ by watching The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith.
ANH-ESB-ROTJ-TPM-AOTC-ROTS
To watch it as TPM, AOTC, ROTS, ANH, ESB, ROTJ would totally ruin the last three since TPM, AOTC, and ROTS are not only its own story, but the backstory to ANH, ESB, and ROTJ.
Did any of that make sense?

I'm one of the very few people that actually prefers the final cut this way. The prequels turned the story to be about Anakin and how he turns from good to evil and then turns back. I think it's best to show the body in which he was good, as Anakin, not the messed up one that represents Darth Vader. Just my take on things...Escapay wrote:6. I understand now why it's young Hayden at the end of ROTJ. I still don't like it, but I understand now.

Also the old Jedi Anakin they originally showed never existed! They showed that image but he was never a kindly old Jedi. The spirit images we see are how the characters appeared in life, so seeing him before he turned to Vader does make more sense.DisneyFan 2000 wrote:I'm one of the very few people that actually prefers the final cut this way. I just saw Revenge of the Sith for the 6th time today and had a great time with my brother and his wife. Also they are giving away free Darth Vader Father's Day posters. Woohoo!

Well Anakin turned evil in that body as well so he could've still have been older and it would've made sense. I still perfer the original version because I mean it seems to make sense if Anakin looks older. I mean it doesn't seem right if Obi Won looks older, Yoda looks older but Anikan looks very young!DisneyFan 2000 wrote:I'm one of the very few people that actually prefers the final cut this way. I love the final version this way, but he did kinda look like he was glaring at Luke in those shots, like he's still evil or something. I don't remember if I heard that on this site or another one, but ever since I heard it, he just seems to glare at Luke. Maybe Hayden was nervous or something.DisneyFan 2000 wrote:I'm one of the very few people that actually prefers the final cut this way. Lucas said in the commentary that when Anakin turned to the dark side, that's when he originally died. He then said that because of that, it would be only "natural" to have his ghost be the same age as him when he "died".Timon/Pumba fan wrote:Well Anakin turned evil in that body as well so he could've still have been older and it would've made sense. I have no problem with the change, but I agree that Anakin looks evil in that shot. The reason for this is simple, though: Hayden didn't know he was going to be put in Return of the Jedi. So the footage you see in that scene is some sort of random outtake from Revenge of the Sith (maybe a wardrobe test?). I think if George had actually taken time to film Hayden specifically for the DVD as opposed to using already existing footage, Hayden would've looked a lot more kind and joyful as opposed to looking slightly sinister.
OK. I finally got to see this movie.
The beginning where they had to land that huge ship and save the supposed "Suprem Chancler," was exciting. So far so good. Then all they did was yap, yap, yap and hug and kiss which, is major boring crap. Then they suspected that the Chancler was a total nut bar so they sent Darth... I mean Anikin to spy on him and he finds out he's the Lord of the Sith which, was very predictable seeing how the Chancler was encouraging him to join the dark side and what not. Then when Darth Vader stormed the Jedi Temple it kinda disturbed my mother that he killed a bunch of children, but I think "you know that's Darth Vader... He's a jerk just like Hitler." My mother was also disturbed by him trying to kill his wife "once again he's a jerk... like Hitler." When Darth Vader got boiled by the lava, I thought that was a little nasty but it would explain his physcotic behaviour in the other films. Definetly not a movie for small children but people brought their children to watch the movie anyways which, annoys the living hell out of me cuz they always ask "what's going on?"
So in general, I didn't think it was a great movie, I'm not much of a Star Wars fan anyways. However, it answered the many guestion that I had. Except how Yoda goes to Degava (or whatever) system. I mean I know why he does it, I want to know how and when.
And I have one question because I didn't see the end credits, but was James Earl Jones doing the voice of Darth Vader in the end?

Yeah it was. I was like "what a pyscho." But I knew it had to be James Earl Jones... I just wanted to make sure.Pasta67 wrote: Yes, it was him. The big "Noooooooooooooo!" he said at the end was kinda corny, though.

Tell me about it....Zoltack wrote: Definetly not a movie for small children but people brought their children to watch the movie anyways which, annoys the living hell out of me cuz they always ask "what's going on?"

Yesterday I went to watch Batman again and some guy brought his son of 6 or 7 years to the movie theater, to a subtituled version of the movie. The kid didn´t understand a thing and then he started to ask his dad "what´s happening?, who is he? what´s next? is he the bad guy(He is killing others, he is running of others, he looks evil...GET A GRIP

Who in his five senses would do that!?
I mean, the children can´t read fast, why to ruin the movie to everyone else!?

That was story, it was necessary. Sorry it was boring to you but they have to stop and talk at some point. At least the first half hour was pretty much constant action and then the last hour.Zoltack wrote: Then all they did was yap, yap, yap and hug and kiss which, is major boring crap.
Why do people keep asking this question? He got in a ship and flew to Dagobah. It happened around the same time that Obi Wan went to Tatooine.Zoltack wrote: Except how Yoda goes to Degava (or whatever) system. I mean I know why he does it, I want to know how and when.

I didn't see Batman Begins but I think I can pretty safe to say that I won't consider it a better movie than ROTS. I've waited a long time for Sith, as far as Batman goes, I'll see it at some point and will probably enjoy it but it won't affect me on the same level as this has. I prefer scifi or horror movies to comic book superhero type movies, but I do enjoy the comic book movies just not as much.
also, according to your signature its only .5 better and thats not that much!

Jane and I will probably see it this week, along with Bewitched.MickeyMousePal wrote:Did any of you guys see Batman Begins and it's better then ROTS.
I don't know if it's better than ROTS (since I haven't seen it). But I have heard mixed reviews about it, such as how it seems like it's two films combined (the first half and the second half of the movie essentially), and that Katie Holmes was a severe miscast.

But simply seeing the movie you never literaly see Yoda go to the Dagobah system. So you're left to assume that he did when Obi Wan went to Tatooine. I mean if you never seen episodes V and VI (which, if you're a Star Wars fan that would be unlikely), you would of never guess what happened to Yoda after the end of episode III.Maerj wrote:
