I don't know how we got off comparing Bambi to Pocahontas but Bambi is one of the greatest films ever made. Pocahontas, on the other hand, is a bad movie.
Pocahontas has awful music, so-so characters and a boring story. The movie doesn't offer anything really interesting and it also was the beginning of the fall of traditional animation. The only good part was Meeko.

Even though you hate pocahontas, do you have the 10th aniversary DVD with the slipcover?Timon/Pumba fan wrote:I don't know how we got of comparing Bambi to Pocahontas but Bambi is one of the great films ever made. Pocahontas is a bad movie.

You must be kidding when you say Pocahontas is boring and Bambi isn't. I cried during the end of Pocahontas. The ending of Bambi was like...blah

Alan, this Bambi bashing is going too far. Neither Bambi nor Pochantas are boring. Bambi was the fifth animated classics that Disney put out. Which out of the first five animated classics (Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo and Bambi) do you like?Alan wrote:Even though you hate pocahontas, do you have the 10th aniversary DVD with the slipcover?Timon/Pumba fan wrote:I don't know how we got of comparing Bambi to Pocahontas but Bambi is one of the great films ever made. Exactly. I feel that Pocahontas is deeply underappreciated.DisneyFan 2000 wrote:I get hot headed whenever I read that line (no offence). It has its flaws, yes. But to call the music bad? It all started with this very random post:Timon/Pumba fan wrote:I don't know how we got of comparing Bambi to Pocahontas
Alan wrote:I think Pocahontas is better than Bambi.

I think saying Pocahontas was the reason the entire traditional animation industry went down the drain is a little harsh, not to mention exaggerated. Traditional animation isn't as popular because computer animation is here now and people like going to see those because it's a newer media. People probably think: "Why would I go pay to see a hand-drawn movie when I can watch one on TV for free?" I think that's why Howl's Moving Castle has only made $1.42 million so far. Pocahontas isn't and will never be the reason hand-drawn animation isn't so popular now.

1. Does that really matter?!Alan wrote:Even though you hate pocahontas, do you have the 10th aniversary DVD with the slipcover?

2. OK this goes for everyone, we all have different opinions about different movies. Some people dislike Bambi, that's fine. Some people dislike Pocahontas, that's also fine. This thread is about what movie we personally think is the worst and we are all just naming which one we think is bad. But you're supposed to give a reasonable opinion why. Some people just said a movie was boring or that the music was bad and that's what started all this bashing.Alan wrote:You must be kidding when you say Pocahontas is boring and Bambi isn't. I thought the music was overrated! I can't believe Colors of the Wind won the Oscar for best song! Toy Story was robbed!DisneyFan 2000 wrote:I get hot headed whenever I read that line (no offence). I mean if you compare it to other great Disney songs, it doesn't compare:
Unfortunate Souls v.s. The Mob Song v.s. Prince Ali(revised)v.s. Be Prepared v.s. Savages
Part of Your World v.s. Beauty and the Beast v.s. A Whole New World v.s. Can You Feel the Love Tonight v.s. Colors of the Wind
Under the Sea v.s. Be Our Guest v.s Friend Like Me v.s. Hakuna Matata v.s What's Around the Riverbend
I think Pocahontas is the weekest in all those rounds!

For the life of me, I don't understand why people buy DVDs of movies they hate. It's just a waste of money. If people don't know if they'll like a movie or not, rent it first.

OK. I do not like bambi because of its horrible music, boring plot. I can't give a more detailed explanation because thats basically how I felt! ITs the same reason why people on THIS THREAD think that Pocahontas is bad. On a happier note, I just got 20 dollars gift certificate to best buy, so I'll be buying Alice in Wonderland there
And I've never seen Dumbo or Fantasia, or pinnochio for like ten years, so I'll just go with Snow white[/b]

I think Colors of the Wind won because it was a unique song. Not many songs are about nature and the earth. The lyrics were also creatively written with deep meanings. It had poetic and artistic lyrics instead of catchy lines and hooks. I think the same things goes for Hunchback's soundtrack.Timon/Pumba fan wrote:I thought the music was overrated! You shouldn't judge a movie by calling "Poca-joe-haunt-us" if you've never seen it before. Just because other people don't like it doesn't you won't like itZoltack wrote:Bambi is the greatest Disney movie of all times, even if you don't think it is. End of story. I haven't seen Poca-joe-haunt-us so I'm not gonna make any conjectures.

Curse you!
You haven´t even watch the real Disney and you dare to proclaim which music or movie is the best?
Pocahontas, is just a pile of crap compared to the very first Disney movies, because they maked history, they keep a legacy in the minds of the generations.
Ask anyone about Disney movies and from 10, 8 will be from the early Disney and one of this will be Bambi and not Pocahontas.
How many people remember that movie?how many remmeber the ending or the love that shared Smith and Pocahontas? but ask people about Bambi and the fisrt thing will say you is "Bambi´s mother death". That´s what make it better, a part that is keeped on all people´s mind.
And I talk about people who have seen Disney movies, and not little brats who thinks that Eminem and any raper or some dude that appear on a nc-17 rated movie saying f* words and stuff every 5 minuts is a good role model to follow.
think about all what had influence on the succes of a movie and not only "I fell like" speech before judjing young man.
