June 22: Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store
Hi folks, I wanted everyone to know that the Disney Studio Store is going to have a lot of merchandise and DVD's exclusive to this store from Walt Disney Studios. We are even going to have an interactive display to find out more information on release and currently available releases. There is also be an option of ordering them there and getting hard to find DVDs sent to your house. We will definately have the largest selection of old, new, and hard to find official Disney DVDs of any Disney Store or Disney Theme Park in the world. I just wanted to give your readers a heads up and give everyone an open invitation to visit. Thank You

Although it's shameless advertising, this got me intrigued, and I found the store's site here
One of the photos shows an entire shelf of Fantasia DVD's in a section devoted to OOP titles (there's a giant Mickey-shaped vault above it). Color me impressed. I suspect lots of DVD's on Ebay are going to drastically reduce in price...

Are you sure that section in the picture is devoted to OOP movies? From what I can see, it just looks devoted to Fantasia. Well anyway, I'm intrigued now. I might wait for the Platinum of Fantasia, but the website says that they will have hard-to-find movies, so I'm going to be looking for Beauty & the Beast, Snow White, and Tarzan.Disneykid wrote:One of the photos shows an entire shelf of Fantasia DVD's in a section devoted to OOP titles (there's a giant Mickey-shaped vault above it).
EDIT: Welcome to the forums, DisneySodaFountain!
EDITEDIT: Oh. It's in LA. Well, that's a little out of my way considering I'm in Georgia! Don't let me down online store! I wish there was one in Georgia. Getting DVDs on the internet is fine, but there's nothing like going through a DVD store and looking at them all on display and picking out the ones you want.

Well, the Mickey vault icon is used a lot of Disney commercials, so I'm guessing either a) every once in a while they'll rotate the OOP titles available in that section, and the first just happens to be Fantasia, or b) the picture was taken before all the DVD's were stocked up, so all we see there is Fantasia when more will be appearing later on. I think it may be "b" because the store does look a tad empty in the picture. I'm sure once it opens, there'll be other titles there like Beauty and the Beast and Snow White.Pasta67 wrote:Are you sure that section in the picture is devoted to OOP movies? orestes.
Wish I could go there but it is a little far away plus that day is my friend's birthday so if I could go I wouldn't although if I had a lot of money I would take her there for a shopping spree.
Anyone want to provide three airline tickets and some spending cash for me?
(when I'm rich I'll buy ya a really big plasma tv)

Will the online store sell the OOP DVD's advertised? i am saying this because this looks like a store exclusive. Disney makes a big deal about movies going into the vault. Will they now let people order all their favorites on DVD? Then there future DVD re-releases (like the platinum's) will loose value. I hope the Online Store sells all the OOP DVD's that they advertise in their description (I'll order 3 of everything), but i doubt it.
Oh i figured everyone would realise that the store photo was just concept art. But they say they will have hard to find dvds so im guessing Fantasia and Snow White will be available....lets hope so.

hiiiii
That's some pretty realistic looking concept art, then. It honestly looks like a photo, but if Captain EO says there's nothing in there at the moment, then the pic must be a concept (or maybe a photo of a model?). Hopefully DisneySodaFountain can come and confirm for us, assuming, of course, that the sole post he made wasn't simply spamming.
